Yes! I finally completed this project! This was something I wanted to create for a while, using GT6's replay footage to replicate the Gran Turismo 2 USA Intro. The intro playing the song "My Favorite Game" by The Cardigans. That song alone gives me nostalgia feelings and I was happy to remake it with GT6.
Anyway, I originally started this back in 2015, but life got in the way and I had to put it on the back burner. Also, I had issues with recording footage on my PS3. Now though, I had some free time for being on my winter break, got my PS3 sorted out (and bought an input converter to record my PS3 in HDMI). With that, I was able to spend some time finishing this video. I hope you enjoy it!
Notes:
- I wanted to do this ever since I saw Alexp37's GT1 & GT2 intro remakes using GT5 footage.
- I used GT6 rather than GT5 because it had more cars and tracks to work with; plus you could paint the Shelby GT350 and Dodge Viper GTS without getting rid of their stripes.
- I replaced some of the cars such as the Mobil 1 NSX & Denso Supra with newer counterparts as a creative choice. Plus, I didn't want every car shown to be a standard car.
- Of course, I had to improvise some clips since GT6 doesn't have every car & track from GT2. Seattle for instance, I picked to utilize London and Madrid in place.
- I can't pinpoint the exact amount of time spent making this, but I can make an estimate. I think I spent 20-24 hours recording the replay footage, another 5-6 hours editing and re-editing clips together on Sony Vegas Pro 11.
