Upon finishing this video, another detail has been confirmed: 8K support, assuming it will feature the same graphics settings as the current "Performance Mode" on the PS5 with no Ray Tracing, or possibly 8K 30 FPS Ray Tracing for replay and showrooms only.

CNET confirmed that the 8K mode is 60 fps (no ray tracing) and the ray tracing mode is at 4K 60. Both are using PSSR upscaling.

Gonna be honest, i wouldn't give two shits if you don't purchase a PS5 Pro, I'm not sure too many people would care either. Hell, I personally think it'd be better if you don't, leave them rotting in shelves (or with the scalpers), Sony should not feel justified pricing it at that much

@@andreasmoller9798 what he is saying is that there are alot of games that are made for PS4 and then enhanced to look like PS5 games, if the current console can run those initialy PS4 games then there is no reason to buy a PS5 pro just for higher frame rates. if they dont drop that shit where they never make games for PS5 to show how much it can do then no one will want to buy pro version.

Because we import from USA? Or we pay taxes upfront while in US you pay separately? Or because USA is main market for everything electronics, EU is kind of too far away(from east Asia) and a mess in terms of geography so it cost more to ship it? idk.

You might as well build your own PC for $700. lol. All I cared about was the 120fps mode to play at 1440p instead of the default 1080p, but dropping an extra $200 for that is ridiculous. lol.

@@andreasmoller9798 I have an original ROG Ally that plays the same games my PS5 plays at 1080p 120fps docked. (60-70fps on more demanding games.) That portable PC costs a little over $500 now base. lol.

@@flopre9213i would not call gt7 mid, i know that a pc can do more, but if you are on budget and just gaming and dont have either yet, ps5 pro could be a good pick, games are offen better optimized on comsole, and just work straight out of the box, pc games dosent always do that sadly.

@@andreasmoller9798 "Games are often better optimised on console" is bollocks unless you can present a list of games that run more efficiently on consoles. Nowadays, there is little difference between consoles and PCs from a hardware perspective. Both run on the same architecture and both use very similar hardware. The only real difference would be a PC using an Nvidia GPU, compared to the AMD APUs used in the PS5/Series X Consoles may have slightly more bespoke hardware for particular features and design goals, and some games may be optimised to utilise this particular hardware (e.g. the PS5 SSD), but for the most part consoles and PCs are now virtually equivalent. As such, games should be just as optimised for both systems

At this price its better to wait until 2027 to get a PS6, so the investment is much more worth it since you would get both retro and the next gen games.

I think the price is fine because the device is not intended for the casual/mass market. Thats the job of the vanilla PS5. But I do think it should have included the Blu-ray disc drive and the stand for a pro device especially at that price.

I'm still running on PS4 and a huge Gran turismo fan, I originally was going to get a PS5 just for GT7 till they announced it's coming to PS4 and PS5 which kinda upset me a little and prevented me getting a PS5 and GT7 altogether. With this announcement however, I'm now very tempted to get a PS5 PRO, I know I'll be at least 2 years behind everyone else when it comes to the game itself, but I do miss the online side of Gran Turismo .... it'll be worth it though

4k is already mind-fuckingly detailed up close, 8K is just genuinely useless for this application, you will not notice the difference unless you stare right up close for several minutes constantly comparing to 4k. In an actual gameplay scenrario, you will notice fuck-all difference between 4k and 8k sitting on your couch meters away from your screen.

There are leaks that put the GPU in direct comparison to a $500 USD one. $770 for a full console (console +70 of the disc tray), is actually quite fair. Series x is $599 for two TB and super dated tech
