Who ever said a Flamenco guitarist cannot make a guitar cry as well as any Classical guitarist? A true virtuoso of both the classical and flamenco worlds.
This is a beautiful rarity, an arrangement of Granada in the key of D. It sounds fuller than most standard arrangements of the piece in the key of E. It's great that (the aptly-named!) Gordon Crosskey arranged Granada in D, as you hear here. Being lower on the fretboard, the stretches are harder in this D version, but Del Monte performs it beautifully.
Absolutely incredibly nuanced, beautiful playing. I simultaneously feel discouraged and incredibly inspired in my own flamenco journey. Beautiful expression, every note was honored in this performance.
Adam, I can tell how much you enjoy this piece. You put so much into it and the result is just beautiful. I played it for my wife and special needs son, and he sat up and took notice - watching every note you played. He is now asking to hear it again and again. Thank you so much for making this nagging old world a pleasant place for five minutes or so. We shed a few tears of joy.
Little Apple Thank you so much for those kind nd heart warming words. I really appreciate your feedback and comments. It means a lot to me when people are moved by my playing because that is what i ultimately strive for..... to move and inspire and share. All best wishes to you and your family.
First i heard this amazing composition in vicky christina Barcelona. Since then I'm looking for the full composition. This melody transcends me somewhere... to a place where the ocean meets the horizon, to a place where I'm free... I'm absolutely free... Thank you for the wonderful performance. For now, I'm taking refuge under your divine music...
Very nice, this music makes me instantly dream of far, warm and beautiful summer nights in the gardens of south Spain :) Thank you Adam , greetings from Russia
Its great because too many classical guitarists take too much liberty with the rhythm...BRAVO...good to see the flamenco training has kept Adam from buggering the pulse
Very nice job. I am amused at those who say they have never heard of you. I learned of you as soon as I picked up my flamenco guitar and yes, you are a grand master. I am amazed that your excellence in classical work is also so good. Thanks you for posting this. It is a pleasure to see this side of your talent.
Well done, Adam! A radio program brought me to search for this beautiful piece of music. Audience should listen to it for at least twice, one with eyes closed and another time with eyes wide open. Both allow audience to immerse into South Spain vibe. Thanks again. ❤😊
I wish to play the guitar JUST to play Albéniz, but more particularly this piece "Granada". It is simply, beautiful. ❤️❤️❤️ I have always wondered how long it would it take me from Z (zero) to A (Albéniz) Thank you Issac Manuel Francisco Albéniz y Pascual.
Glenn Williams The song is originally performed and written by Isaac Albéniz, but I agree it its so beautiful and brings me right back to that beautiful city!
Interesting arr. Cool too see someone deviate from standard Tarrega based transcription. Liked how harmonics fitted nicely into melody in minor part (II-part), but i am not sure I really liked the melody transcribed that high on the scale. Somehow it braked musically, but still lovely music, I like it overall. Also it must be more difficult to play it from D instead of E due to larget frett spacing from 5th frett than from 7th, so good work. Thanks for sharing with us.
Maravillosa y asombrosa interpretación de ésta hermosa composición de Albéniz. Excelente!!!
I score this as sheer perfection. But I think we would need beyond YT commentary to proclaim the quality of this LOL! :D In any regard, I have not hear or seen a YT video that was more perfect than this. The timing, the sound, the melody... could not find a single flaw.
