Granada TV closedown with Jim Pope, 10 November 1986

ricardo266 - Uploaded April 29, 2007 - From Mon 10 Nov 1986, this is another in this short series of Granada closedown sequences. This time it's Jim Pope (for many years the voice of University Challenge) on the late shift in Manchester. A nostalgic reminder of the days of regional ITV stations, when the continuity announcer was allowed to inject some of their own personality into "Goodnight from Granada". The much loved closedown theme music is the 'New Granada Theme' by Keith Mansfield and Derek Hilton - a specially commissioned piece which was used from 1977 until Granada went 24 hours on 13 Feb 1988.
And don't forget to switch off your computer.....Goodnight!
