Stella Magna is the in-house band of which composer Tsutomu Narita is a part of. He mainly plays guitar, but for certain tracks he plays keyboard as well (such as the beginning organ section of Zero). Basically it's the Black Mages of Granblue Fantasy.
@sodathejunker
@sodathejunker 7 месяцев назад
Very great analogy, considering the Sound Director for Granblue is none other than Nobuo Uematsu and Stella Magna exists because they amassed enough musical tracks to perform as a real rock band rather than an orchestra, literally just like the Black Mages did 😂

Regarding your question about the "Dragon's Circle" stuff, yeah, the themes that start with that title and end with "Fire and Wind, Water and Earth, Light and Dark" are related since is a group of "Elemental Dragons" which they have an important role on the granblue fantasy lore. Along with those dragons, there is another one called Lindwurm. Also, as part of a fun fact for those songs. A time ago, the director of the mobile game posted on twitter that when he requested to create these songs for the dragons, he told to Tsutomu Narita and Nobuo Uematsu to compose these songs taking in mind those classic JRPG games from the Playstation era or even older ones. Following that, when each song and raid bosses were released, the director posted on social media the notes or comments from the music team (Stella Magna) of what they took for inspiration. For "Fire and Wind" Tsutomu and Uematsu thought on those RPGs from the era of those very old consoles, like SNES or NES. For "Water and Earth" they thought of those RPGs from the Playstation like FF7 or even FF6 And for "Light and Dark" they thought mainly of FF8 and FF9. Remember the other dragon I mentioned? Lindwurm? As well it has a theme song for the raid and as well Stella Magna got inspiration from those old JRPGs from the NES. Eventually, when you hear those themes, you will find those "musical references" or vibes, just like you did with this one. Ah, and yes, Stella Magna is the one who composed most of the most recent tracks of Granblue, and Tsutomu Narita is the leader of that band.

I'm just listening to Granblue Fantasy Relink OST, the game released a few days ago And man I'm not disappointed Tsutomu Narita is a beast (the main composer for the Granblue Fantasy series). I also love Uematsu's original tracks being re-arranged in Relink as he worked on some of the original Granblue music Yasunori Nishiki (Octopath composer) was also involved in Granblue Fantasy Versus and his tracks are fantastic Edit : I think Narita worked with Uematsu a lot to arrange his tracks in several projects throughout the years. He was seemingly the arranger for Shimomura's tracks in Xenoblade as well

Stella Manga is basically a in house band, featuering various singers and stuff, This vocalist in particular is known as Taro Kobayashi, hes done at least two more granblue songs Parade Lust and Small fish in a pond (Not sure on this title) Hes also done music for kamen rider amazons, highly amazing talented vocalist.

Small fish in a small pond (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s5CTQfbFi6A.html) God I love that song as well. Would love to see Jesse react to it one day. I have not been actively playing GBF for years but I 100% still pay attention to all the major event and especially the musics they produced.

Oh yeah, Paradise Lost, affectionately referred to as the secret Linkin Park song. You might not have realized yet, but the chorus became a leitmotif that can be found in both Parade's Lust and Zero (to which you have reacted before) and pretty much all stories related to the archangels in the game. Paradise Lost, for context, is also the name of the second anniversary event from a trilogy that went through 2017 to 2019, the lyrics make quite a lot more sense once you see what the story is about. As for the dragon's circles, they are songs made for a group of battles against dragons themed around the six elements in granblue, with one song for each of the fire/wind, earth/water and dark/light pairs, all of them were composed with the purpose of having an old JRPG feel to them. Thank you so much for the reactions, and hopefully you can give one day Granblue Relink a try (it's probably the easiest entry level game of the franchise), I am sure you'll enjoy both the gameplay and the amazing music they worked into it.

yoooo Paradise Lost! One of the best songs from the OG Granblue. The story behind the Paradise Lost song would take too much text for a RU-vid comment but it basically represents the underlying emotions of Belial, a Fallen Angel. The second song, Dragon's Circle, has three versions for the different elemental pairs of the 6 Elemental Dragons. This version, Light and Dark, is the battle music for the raid battles against Fediel, the SKull-laden Dragon of Darkness with multiple heads. and Lu-Woh the Dragon of Light. The other two version, "Water and Earth" and "Fire and Wind," are both worth a listen as well. Water and Earth is my personal favorite of the Dragon's Circle.

Paradise lost I assume the name is in reference to the English poem of the same name which deals with religious themes around why would God allow suffering Which makes sense in reference to the character whose this theme is, Sandalphon, which is a fallen angel who was in service of Lucifer which in this world is the keeper of balance, so tldr lucifer was so busy worked sandalphon felt unloved and ignored and betrayed him, then he redeemed himself

to answer your question, yes theres a new game for PS4/PS5/PC called Granblue Fantasy Relink, and its sort of seperate story from the main game, some people even say its a good entry point to the franchise. hope this helps😊

I've recently got into granblue with granblue fantasy verses rising that came out this past December. I don't know much about Belial other than the fact he's grouped with the villains on the character select, and the fact that every dialog line he has is filled with innuendo. But still I love fighting him online to rock out to this song, as well as his other theme, paradise lust. And granblue fantasy relink just came out a few days ago. I've been super impressed by it. Super well put together game, and it's somehow beating both persona 3 and the new yakuza combined in player numbers on steam when all 3 games came out around the same time

OOOOHHHHH PARADISE LOST IS SO GOOD..... One of the only songs that makes me absolutely rock out while crying my eyes out. I'd explain the lore behind it but it's.... A LOT. Just a lot of story crammed into it like with everything in granblue.

@JazzLafayette
@JazzLafayette 7 месяцев назад
So Paradise Lost is the first theme attributed to the villain Belial, whose second major theme (of three) you reacted to with Parade's Lust. It's less explicit than Lust, but very much still drawing a metaphor between apocalypse and sex like that track. His third theme in contrast is incredibly romantic and a total tone shift.

14:15 I get you. Fediel's design is probably the most metal out of dragon designs I've come across. It looks wicked and horrifying, but you can't take your eyes off it, like a combination of all things "demonic" known to man. To top it all, it sounds like an old witch who's constantly trying to put hex on you, lol.

While some people have mentioned Narita,his connection with stella magna (he is the guitarist and keyboarder in stella magna,apart from being the composer for gbf in general) aswell as his connection with Uematsu,it is also VERY much worth noting within the Uematsu and band context, that Narita is also part of Uematsu's band "Earthbound Papas". As far as gbf and stella magna related tracks go,I´d love to see you react to Peace and Quiet aswell as Small Fish in a Small pond (the latter of the 2 being my most favourite granblue track)

Granblue Fantasy is a super-grindy "collect characters" game that, technically, can be played without paying anything but doing so takes extreme dedication. And a lot of people have spent a lot of both time and money on the game, so there's some really entrenched players there. It's also a franchise which is growing, with the fighting game Versus getting a sort-of-sequel late last year, and a new Action RPG being released less than a week ago. Continuous development of the original, plus slowly expanding franchise surrounding it. You'll probably hear about it every now and then for quite some time. I tried out the mobile game for a while (18ish months), but it was way too grindy for me while unemployed, and I started studying, so... Yeah. I could either play FFXIV and Granblue for a year and grind forever, or I could do like I did last year and play FFXIV casually and also beat over thirty other games. If only I could take part in the story of Granblue without the FOMO, grind, and money-spending pressures of the mobile game, I'd be happy to return to the world, because the characters and world are amazing.

Damn I waited so long for this to finally be reacted to and I was so happy to see this in my feed. Stella Magna its easy to think of them as "The Primals" of Granblue Fantasy. Their other songs that they have created for the mobile game as well as the fighting game are all bangers. Since it is perfect timing. Would be awesome to watch you stream Granblue Fantasy Relink.

You've definitely got it right that this song has a lot to do with loss. While this is the song that plays during the battle with Avatar Belial, it's more or less Sandalphon's theme, who has to deal with the loss of his closest companion and possible love interest, Lucifer, and coming into the role that Lucifer previously held.
@zecendia
@zecendia 7 месяцев назад
It first plays during The avatar fight in the paradise lost event actually,avatar belial specifically actually uses Parades lust iirc. Its also worth mentioning in the context that avatar is, if i remember my lore properly all these years later,an amalgamation of primal cores harvested from pandaemonium,those that didnt get corrupted into being only usable for avatar ended up like Azrael/Israfel and theres a few outliers that went entirely uncorrupted in body and only corrupted in mind. I could also swear that lucifers core specifically was used to actually make it possible to manifest avatar properly in the first place,which would make sense considering that avatars...noises are done by sakurai as well,but im not quite sure at all on that bit.

Paradise Lost is the companion to the cheesey one you listened to 9 months earlier - Parade's Lust, even the names a "Paradise Lost / Parade's Lust" can sound very similar if you pronounce them a certain way. In a massive oversimplification Parade's Lust is essentially the sarcastic and confrontational public persona the character wields to put people off guard, Paradise Lost is his internal feelings about his very toxic relationship with someone that does not hold him in affection, but its part of who he is.

As others mentioned, Stella Magna is the in-house band for Granblue with Narita (gbf's composer) as one of the members. The closest comparison would be the Primals for FF14 with Soken who also plays live. There's also Black Mages for Nobou but they're not exactly in-house like the previous two.

I wasn't really into Granblue until Relink which just came out(and already made a request for lol), it's like a fusion of DMC and Monster Hunter. I even played the fighting game a lot before but like with a lot of fighting games you don't really invest a lot into the story and just play against other people. The soundtrack is amazing and I really like the setting, even the characters have a deeper story than you'd expect from a mobile game.
