Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising - Beatrix Trailer Reaction & Breakdown (BAEtrix) 

Her getting hit in the trailer has 2 reasons the first being it is a part of her mechanics, her delta clock activates on lower health, and the second is lore, Beatrix is canonically super unlucky partly because her sword is cursed but she's also naturally unlucky outside of that. But like the trailer shows, she does her best work when she's cornered. So yeah, it isn't random.

Her SBA and her outfit is based on her SSR and the CA of the SSR, the SSBA is based on her Earth alt’s CA, one of her poses is her SR’s, and her SSBA finish’s pose is her Summer alt’s pose. Emnity and Delta Clock is what Beatrix is known for, which they fused with Delay from GBF. The more Beatrix is in a pinch, the stronger her and Embrasque becomes (which is why Embrasque becomes huge in her SSBA) and her command grab also hurts her, but gives her Delta Clock on her next Skill, even if she doesn’t have low health. Of Society, Beatrix has the closest bond to her Automagod/weapon and Embrasque eats causality so Beatrix isn’t fated to die, but is unlucky and has lost a lot (like her family and future), yet is reckless due to this and has even thrown herself at her allies’ attacks to power up (also earned the nickname of Immortal/Undying Blue.) Fun fact: Beatrix makes everything she cooks very sweet and Embrasque eats it because it has a sweet tooth. Her character guide video released recently, too.
