A nice thing about Wu Xing Compass is it has Yang Harmony, which means it can be parked with artillery, which have Yin harmony, and buff them a good deal.

Hey Zerk! Sky-Junk and Lantern are showing the opposite units;)

"Long" means "Dragon", "Ma" means "horse", so "Longma" is a "Dragonhorse"... if my little chinese knowledge is not entirely off. Yes, definitely a Dragonhorse... looks neat. I also really like how the cannon and missile launcher look.

Its nice to see that unit size stat for single entity also scale weapon strength rather than only hp as it is in warhammer 2.

I feel like it's worth pointing out that although it's not listed anywhere the Sky-Junk does have a set of 4 Crane Gunners on it like the Sky Lantern that will fire on ground troops, I just don't think you can manually aim them? I think the Sky-Junk is simply an advanced version of the Lantern, there's not really any question that it's better overall.

I actually found that peasant units as cathay were fairly good at just being armies I could throw around and with upgrades they had decent stats so I enjoy using them quite a bit

Looking at the rosters for Cathay and Kislev just makes it more obvious how busted the elf rosters in WH2 are. Jade warrior crossbows = Darkshards, except darkshards get ton of AP damage. You need to get to the tier 5(?) celestial version to match the tier 3 Shades. At least Cathay get jezzails, so that's something. Kislev frost guard = Sisters of Avelorn. Tier 4 Female magical archers with very good melee stats to complement their range. Except, again no AP damage for WH3 humies but AP damage for skinny gits. And since magic resistance no longer blocks magical weapon damage, the sisters are more potent than ever. Well, at least the gap between them is smaller. As it looks like CA are halting the power creep, it means that High Elves, Dark Elves and Skaven will remain as the best rosters in campaign. And Skaven will probably still get more dlc with verminlords. The rats are fun to play tho, can't argue that. Maybe would be enough to just nerf the elf economy a bit. They can have their elite roster, just not so many armies.

Cant wait for the empire update woth new imperial tactics and formations for them it just feels right for the empire

You confused the pictures of the Sky Junk and the Sky Lantern. Speaking of the lanterns and junks it should be mentioned that they are Yin aligned and can activate tthe Harmony buff for the melee units just by hovering above.

Amazing shots and level of detail like always, Zerk, but I gotta ask: why are people only showing Cathay and Khorne rosters? Everything else seems to be either playable, or at least present on the map, so is there some kind of embargo on featuring the other factions or their rosters? If so, any idea when we will get to see the rest?

i think you mixed up the models of the Sky Lantern and Sky-Junk. The unit with the big artillery damage is missing the Fire Rain Rocket i can clearly see on the other model you showed before.

Charge defense on all on peasants is weird when Empire Halberts don't have that baseline.

How do they deal with character duels? And do the war machines come in larger model counts?

For the LLs, does health stay the same (if damaged) when they change from human to dragon form? I see Zhao has 6318 max in both forms, but Miao has 6318 in human and only 6239 in dragon form.

Hey, i have not seen anyone directly say for this. I have seen Harmony amplifier on several units, and it seems the dragon siblings have the highest at 100% amplifier. My question though is, is this a battlefield wide ability, or is it limited to range like under their leadership aura?

I think the new Abilities panel would make this easier to do. You're probably just so used to going across the tiny icons.

ty for the roster gude, but can you tell how much the units cost in multiplayer? the pricing is a needed info. and didn't you swap the sky junk and the sky lantern in your explanation? the lantern is shooting arty missiles, not the sky junk. or am i wrong?

Not sure if I’m all that excited for Cathay. Three tiers of anti-large infantry, three tiers of archers, re-skinned Jezzails and re-skinned Empire artillery. Also the Yin/Yang mechanic sounds cool but I’m worried the reality will be keeping idle melee infantry near your ranged units the whole battle just to keep the buffs. Love the sentinels and balloons though and obviously the visuals on everything are amazing.

I think the sky junk is not completely useless after it runs out of ammo as the crane gunners on it has unlimited ammo

Can someone explain why meow ying has no single fricking lighting spell? she is "master of the storm winds"...right?

I'm curious about those area healing spells like Earth Blood in WH3. Do they still affect a maximum of 4 units like in WH2?

Prediction for future units: Battle Monks - Melee damage dealer units with low armour but high melee defence. Battle Priest - All rounder hero with yin and yang spells.

Been trying Cathay and it reminds me of how I had to play the Empire in WH2. A little different and more magic but same army style. Seems cool buuuuuuuuut Blood for the Blood God

aren't the skyjunk and sky lantern units the other way around? you show the skyjunk model for the lantern and the lantern model for the sky junk? or am I miss remembering the look from the gameplay?

@Zerkovich Why did you stop hovering your mouse over the unit abilities after heroes?

The peasant long spears are viable for a long time. First of all, they can get buffed to about 35-ish melee defense which is quite solid given their cost, anti-large and charge reflect. Second, they are cheap, single turn global recruitment options. If you are going missile/artillery heavy, you can bring these guys up through mid-game at least and just use them to meatshield. If they die, who cares? You go and global recruit a few more units to replace the ones that got annihilated (possibly by your own artillery).

Cathay needs a great sword unit. And I’d love to see lords and heroes with different weapons. Same could be said for Empire lords and heroes.

hey guys any of you noticed serious visual bugs with GRAND CATHAY units? i run the omen 30 L computer with rtx 3080 graphics card and i get some serious visual bugs that distorts unit details, it mostly visible from medium to close distance and it effects mostly models faces making them looked deformed/smashed. at very close range from individuals models in a unit it becomes normal again. the units this bug is most clear to see are units that you can see whole of their faces like peasants and iron hail gunners. another bug i seem to have is with the shadows of units being totally blurred at any quality level. if any of you had experienced this problems and found a solutions i will be greatly thankful if he can respond and tell how to fix them.
