The Value of the house is determined not only by how big and beautiful it is. Things like availability to other things like shopping centers, better schools for children, better hospitals/clinics, safety/security, water quality, weather, etc. Hence you might find that a mere 4 room price in a city could be same price as an 8-10 room house in rural areas, the only way for the value of rural house prices to increase is based on the factors and more I mentioned.

Only in dreamland, especially if you think property value is determined by how big or beautiful it is. Being around or in an urban cities is what makes it high valued. Rural can never ever be more expensive than urban, it doesn't make economical sense.

Very Beautiful. I have never really been outside of the Western Cape, Nice to see what the rest of our Beautiful Country looks like. Love the homes,I like the fact quite a few of the properties still have or build new "rondawels" 🛖 🤔 is that the correct word?? My brother is an architect so I kinda see the homes from his point of view, really Beautiful. Hoping in a few years time there will be lots of trees 🌳 and maybe communal vegetables gardens. Ofcoz, almost every household has livestock ND grow their own veggies, that's the life of rural here in SA

@Kingkoffi I would not say it's a big thing. It also depends on the area. Here is my take based on our area. What perpetuates is subsistence farming rather than commercial. It's only the really old people who still keep livestock and farming is dying because most of the youngsters have moved to cities for employment and the older generation is unable to keep up. Also, crime has arisen in rural areas which used not to be, livestock is being stolen but traditional laws are no longer applied and the police are not visible in rural areas. For instance our police station is 20km away. With no formal piblic transport system by the time you get to them crime has ben perpetrated and the perpetrators gone. Finally, with the "selling" of land, new people are coming in and there is no longer the spirit of community/family.

Nope we don’t pay for rates because a majority of us depend on borehole system, rain water preservation and rivers. The roads are not done and no one picks up garbage we burn it. 🤷🏽‍♀️.

@@michaeldeutschmann5992 no. You don't submit building plans. Villages are under the care of a chief. Land is free or you pay just a few amount for stand no/allocation. You have to supply your own water/ digging boreholes. No tar roads. You do everything yourself. The only thing you do is to buy electricity or you can cook using wood coals or install solar panels, it's up to you. ( it's off the grid setup)

This is called dead capital, we build one for our parents, they passed on, our lives are in the towns n cities across the country. Back in the day it was good bcos black people were restricted to live in bantustan areas, the value was being around extended families. Young people hv moved to urban areas n continue to do so, the African extended family as we know it is dissapearing rapidly. My bro. build one with expensive finishes for well over 1m, now he is going through a divorce and he cant even find a buyer for R600k. Rich black people who build expensive mansions in townships couldnt sell them to anyone @ the fall of Apartheid.A 4 roomed house in Soweto is worth much more than some of this rural mansions.
