At first I found the flourishes in the background distracting; then I began to appreciate the contrast with the deliberation and flow of the Grand Master.
Dear master Chen Zheng Lei, thank you for sharing this Chen Tai Chi form integrating with the perfect music---- it is heavenly! May the divine light shine upon you!
I think the issue is with the organizers who don't set a physical barrier to create the appropriate space for such a magistral performance. Instead, they create the ideal environment for the kids to nourish their egos, part of the discipline is to show respect for the people who handed them down the knowledge.
I thought the same when I first saw this. But later I realized - I am annoyed by the kids' behavior, but he is not. He is focused on his practice, totally undisturbed, even in the midst of all that noise and chaos. That is a true grand master. May we all attain such focus.
You seem not to realise this is a part of an organised competition. The "kids" are athletes who most likely work their jardest through sweat and tears to compete in 5, 10 minutes. It is NORMAL for big comps to have different things running on different carpets at the same time. Yes, the organisers should have given more space, time and attention to the Grandmaster rather than squeeze him in between competition events.
I kept saying to myself while watching get it master chen get it get it get it he worked that form like it's nobody business and doing it in spite of all the movement going on around him so beautifull so elegant it brought tears to eyes man that right there I wish I could even do half of what he could do WaaaaaaaaaW!!!!
have't watched him in a long time. but one of the few chen style masters that actually do = pone part moves all parts move. one parts stops all parts stop. his postures are all very distinct and complete yet still flow from one to the other.
as I see it, whatever is happening, people in the background do not show attention to the event for which they presented themselves, and they do not show respect for what the teacher is bringing to them (even if it were a simple championship). of course this is my way of seeing :)
Square Wuna tnk, I understand what you want to say to me but my comment is not addressed to the great masters who are, or not, present in that event. I address young people who are wandering in the background. if you observe them, would you be able to say that there are some great masters who are performing? try to imagine that the grandmaster, who is in the video, is not visible to the camera (ie the camera only records people in the background). would not you say that maybe those people are waiting ... the bus for example? I know that in tournaments a rather superficial attitude is allowed, but this is not a justification. I also observed this grandmaster behind my pc. I can assure you that I did not walk around the room with other distractions on my mind. and I can also assure you that I am not a great sage, but I'm a person like many others :)
As an observer of the comments and reparte within the comment section I would say this .. at the tournaments like this , big ones with lots of things going on .. there are often times when people preparing for their events will be warming up , moving thru moves preparing themselves and mind the way they know ,, I don’t have an issue with that ,, but what strikes me is that as a martial Artist if I caught this master at any point in his performance no matter how good I was at my select skill set and no matter what I was doing I would be struck still to watch this extraordinary performance .. so to me it’s not the “young people” preparing that is strange .. it’s the in responsiveness of their minds to not realize what they should stop and take in.. amazing demonstration of what a martial artist can do
What a shame that the young people there didn't know what they were missing.... had the honour some years ago of training with him and it was something to cherish, the energy he created was something else.
I believe guys in the back are mostly Wushu as gimnastic profesionals. You can see some Taiji (yang 24 form I believe) at 3:10 the ones in white at the right. The guy you point out, I'd say, is someone with respect towards masters and that might enjoy and see the inner complexity and focus of the performer :)
Chinese theatres shows enjoyment with noise and movement , hes amazing, his body he is a moving example of hard work, and dedication, or proper work, whole body is involved his power is gravity power it's real power I feel like I have just been cleansed
You are deceived by your imagination. The art is the application not showing some fancy or mystical movement. Unless You don't touch him u don't know his true skill
Does anybody recognize the fighting style(s) of the kid in blue in the beginning and the first kid in black? I couldnt help but notice them on the first watch through😅 This was a stunning performance!
1080p home video from 30 years ago? No way Look at the camera that shows up at 0:17 too. Digital cameras weren't a thing in the 90s yet, much less one that advanced
Not really. It is a compendium of moves from the first and second routines for demonstration so includes lao jia yi lu and er lu movements@@HerrSposato
Which part of mixed in mma dont you get? Tai chi is very common, many mma fighters seek it out. Im one of them. Its worth it. No other style is as good at defense, movement, or is equal to jujutsu kata. Chen style will help you learn jujutsu faster, and keep you safe from strikes.
Chen style teaches that. Its the precursor to more combative tai chi, just like yang is a precursor to chen. You learn them in order. I can say from experience chen style is the same as jujutsu, except it also has foot work (tai chi is great for footwork, and it isnt easy). Chen style tai chi also teaches you way better defensive stances and postures to use in real combat, unlike anything else. This is not a beginner art. You can see how he makes a circle with every part of his body, and his energy is obviously amazingly strong, he could easily send any of those kids behind him flying 20 feet backwards with a push. The man is as strong as a tree trunk, you cant really get better combat application than that. I mean it literally, he would also have studied iron body. Strong, flexible, fast, smooth, well protected, and all this style really is missing is submissions/ bone breaks, and some striking. It has almost everything you need on its own
@@daveshif2514 first should you stop trying to separate this and that. In Chinese martial arts there is only one way how things work in reality, so everything is the same. As long as you don't spar you don't understand what I mean
@@daveshif2514 I'm Training kungfu since i was 16.. I trained Chen style 1 year. The problem is that is to incomplete. For every CMA u need "Song". Everybody talks about it, but nobody can do it. As long as u don't have i you can't apply any Kungfu in combat... i changed to boxing and wrestling for 4 years and the simple techniques is the best. Its hard-to-use song in boxing so how could u use taiji in combat with someone who is really trying to hurt you. If u have skills few punches are enough i doubt that u really spar vs trained fighters... u wouldn't say something like that
@@dayman161172 shows what you know. If you cant see the obvious benefits of knowing chen tai chi and taichixian then i cant really help you. Sounds like you are closed off in your ways, and that will make you lose to someone who studies harder. Ive been a kickboxer since i was 8, im 29 now. 21 years of mma, including chen style tai chi and tai chi xian. I promise you, you have no idea what you are talking about. If you think 4 years of wrestling is enough to convince me you know anything youre wrong, youre basically an infant compared to me. I do kickboxing, jujutsu (not that bjj gracie shit), tai chi, and boxing. Wrestling and boxing is nothing compared to what i do. Im from long island new york, you probably couldent even walk around the same block i do
