I’d been watching Bruce movies for 50 years, never get bored.

Bruce Lee trained 24/7 not only physically, mentally, spiritually and also dieting.. the guy was all about up grading inventing devices to get his Physique into a level that is unheard of, even the dragon flag sit ups, it just drives me crazy when people put this incredible man down with all these martial art masters that knew how good he was stay silent or allow others to do so.

Everything you said brother teacher I agree 100%. I've read Books on the man, I've studied all his moves in slow motion. I've even tried to imitate his moves. The man was amazing! So fast so fluid so accurate and so powerful for his frame. I was born in the wrong era. I would have loved to been born in his era and lived nearby him to take lessons from him. Hey everyone, look at the youtube video titled: Allen Steen vs Chuck Norris 1966 Long Beach Internationals Final and you will see Allen Steen clearly beat Chuck Norris. Chuck had no timing, no broken rythum, he couldn't adapt, he had no flow. Now compare this with footage of Bruce sparring and you will see the difference, the timing, the reflexes and speed. No way chuck would stand a chance against Bruce. Chuck always says he was a "professional" fighter. Chuck was actually just a "Point" fighter, not a Full Contact fighter like Joe Louis, and Joe Louis is famous for repeatedly saying he knew how fast Bruce was and how powerfully he could punch because Bruce Popped him many times. I met Chuck in the past, I saw him practiced and as a martial artist that I am for the past 50 years he is not and will never be an outstanding martial artist , he was the worst martial artist I've ever seen personally . He should be grateful Bruce Lee helped him gain popularity.

I NEVER get tired of watching Bruce Lee. I love the clip of him interviewing for the Green Hornet position. Not only is Bruce's speed incredible, but also his control. His hand goes straight at the older gentleman's face with lightning speed, yet Bruce stops the punch an inch or so before hitting it. I agree with Jim Kelly that Bruce Lee was "unbelievable." (Hated to hear that Jim passed away several years ago; what a great martial artist, what a great guy.)

I saw that video of Grand Master William Cheung, he put the rumour to rest. Bruce first was given his gift/calling of the martial arts, from TMH. Second his naturally abilities/attributes, he was born with were on a heightened level, combined with his training made him far above the average-> (Chuck Norris) and even masters of the martial arts. His mind set was that of a warriors mentality, like a ninja/shogun/samurai's, level, not on a professional sports athletic level, who fights for points, like mma etc., which limits your fighting skill. Also, being a black belt is overrated in america. In the ancient days it was no such, thing as black belts or any other belts. Black belt/white belt originated in Asia, I believe china if I'm not mistaken, in the 1800's, and other coloured belts later in the early 1900's. You start with a white belt as an apprentice or beginner, of first basics, then you get a black belt in the last phase of still being a beginner, who's mastered the basics. when completing all your basics, then you practice to be a master or grand master, which is a way of life, not a sport. On average a black belt was aquired between 8-12 years. Bruce knew, this info. Chuck Norris would never, admit to being beaten by Bruce, because of pride, which tells me he's not a humble man. A humble man can admit defeat and his weaknesses. And as for Michael Jai White, saying he could, beat Bruce, ha-ha...hee-hee😅😂🤣. Mike couldn't. I don't think so, i know so. Peace!

Yes my friend, you are perfectly right ! i have trained with Dan Inosanto, and Ted Wong the two best buddies of Sifu Bruce Lee , and confirmed that in those years Bruce was the fastest and complete fighter alive, and even then he was always refining his technique to be even faster, stronger and yes untouchable, it was difficult for him to teach Jeet Kune Do because it was his personal way of expressing himself, and no student ever attained his level of creativity ,comprehension and developpement . I consider him the Einstein of combat ,since his study was to observe all forms of combat, then his teachings became : using no way as way,having no limit as limitation, well once lived a fluid man in a classical mess.

During that time he was only known for his role in Way Of The Dragon. There are a lot of things Chuck Norris said in that book he doesn't say now. I know he forgot all about that interview. His fighting style hasn't gotten any better from then to now, that's why a Gracie was able to choked him out. It's a matter of fact by Bruce Lee's closes friends and family that Bruce lee could finish anyone in a fight within the very first seconds of the beginning of a fight and it was because of his explosiveness his speed power timing accuracy was unmatched. Bruce beat Chuck. You don't become a student to someone you beat. Chuck does not want his character tarnished so he builds himself up...his son builds Chuck up and Chuck gets off the topic each and every time it's brought up.

Anyone who is a martial artist can see that B Lee was way above any other,then and now. He did not need to demonstrate that in public arenas. His demonstration of speed and power is unmatched by anyone,or in any weight category. If you have the power of a heavyweight ( in Lee's case more power) and the speed of a flyweight,which he has. In fact his speed was undetectable, with his style of training, you would have to be careful not to kill anyone. Because at his stage he could easily take out a human being,not only with his power and speed but also from his training about vulnerable parts of the body.

Chuck Norris didn't like Bruce because he could not fathom the fact that Bruce best him in a sparring match that was held privately indoors. Bruce helped Chuck to who he is today = rich and famous. I have never seen anything that Chuck disrespected Bruce. They were friends and Bruce wanted Chuck as his competative opponent for his film. I saw that interview with Chuck but it was the interviewer who asked if had ever wanted a real fight or who was best. Chuck said neither wanted that but Chuck has always respected Bruce. Too many uneducated opinions from people who were not there. Any interview can be twisted or reprinted to make it seem like they had beef. But the fact Bruce chose Chuck says it all.

All good points brother teacher. I’m a student of GM Cheung’s TWC. Glad u made this video. In GM Cheung’s book Bil Jee there are snap shots of the letters Bruce Lee would send Cheung. Bruce mention how 3 of Americans champion would train under him. I think that was Mike Stone, Joe Lewis and of course Chuck Norris. Dunno.. why would you train under someone you can beat? Train with yes. It’s funny years ago in late 70’s and early 80’s Norris always seemed quite and very humble. In my opinion. After his claim to fame with all the Delta force and MIA movies they made him the face for American fighting pride. Then came Texas Ranger series. He seemed to change. Now he’s this serious tough guy with a cowboy hat and scowl? Guess it went to his head? Pride and money change a lot of people. Or maybe this is how he truly is?

The only people's word I would listen to, with regards to how good or not bruce was, were the guys that actually sparred with him....and trained with him....Jim Kelley, a former world karate champion was one of them...and listen to what he had to say about bruce...about how bruce was a freak of nature and nobody could even tough bruce with regards to fighting...as far as sugar ray leonard or tyson go...they never even met bruce lee, never mind trained with him or sparred with him...they only know him through the movies...talk to guys like dan inosanto...bruce's first student, or one of the first....these guys know first hand about bruce.

Bruce Lee simply exposed Karate on film back then for that era! Thats why he chose Chuck Norris! Just watch the footwork, he circled Chuck, when Chuck came straight forward. When Bruce feinted and used some of his principles from JKD he set Chuck up each time. Chuck had no response. Even though it was choreograph. He still exposed it back then. For the era in the mid 60's and early 70's. He was basically showing karate is a straight line attack. Everything Chuck did was rehearsed no freedom of movement. When Chuck started trying to fight like Bruce, fight was over. He schooled him on film. Actually Bruce shined on Chuck. Chuck didn't even know it!

When Bruce was alive Chuck Norris said "If it were a real fight, it would take 20 of me to even lay a single blow on Bruce". Chuck Norris is an opportunist who learned from Bruce. I was a student of Hawkins William Cheung and he told me and 30 other students the same story you just told and he even explained Chuck was too slow and couldn't even dodge Bruce Lees punches and kicks because they were non telegraphic and had a snap to his kicks and punches which is now explained in Jeet Kune Do and most of the non telegraphic punches was when Connor Mcgregor used a lot in his fights and is still effective to this day so we all know Bruce Lee was so fay far advanced because he explained to take every good technique out of each different style and incorporate it with what works for you and I see it being used in MMA presently. Amazing to think how a Genius Bruce Lee was to figure this out over 50 years ago.

Now I will correct you on one small point that Chuck Norris fought in point fighting, but he also fought in PKA which was full contact fighting (started by Joe Lewis who was also a student of Bruce Lee). It was mostly boxing rules with kicking. Of course you couldn't kick below the belt and you had rounds. But, I'm a martial artist. All I need do is analyze Bruce Lee's movements in his movies and in videos of sparring matches, then compare them to Chuck Norris' fights and movies. Any real martial artist can plainly see who's movements are more effective, flowing, and powerful. It's not really even close. It's always amazing how people come out of the wood work now that Bruce is gone. People who could have challenged him publicly when he was alive, but never did. Not to a real fight anyway. You can clearly see in the Colosseum fight that Chuck Norris movement was sloppy and clunky compared to Bruce's movement being smooth and fluid. I know is just a movie but Norris didn't look that good.

Chuck Norris was NEVER a "student" of Bruce Lee! Why does everyone keep saying this? They sparred together on rare occasions, and exchanged philosophies, but everyone always talks like Chuck studied at Bruce's dojo somewhere! It's bullshit. While I personally believe Bruce would have beaten Chuck in a street fight, give the man some credit and respect: He was the middleweight karate Champion of the World for 6 straight years before he retired in 1974, and you don't achieve that by being some clown.

I have always thought that Chuck was a little over confident with his ability's. I appreciate Chuck and admire his ability's. Having said that, he was a non contact fighter as I was when I studied Karate. Bruce Lee s speed and power would devastate Chuck. Did they fight each other, my guess is probably yes. Being friends I am sure that they went at a few times. This would be a walk in the park of Bruce. As far as Chuck , in his day Bill Wallace s left foot would floor Chuck.

And during those decades he was obliged to listen to comments, rumors, snickerings, ironies against him from people with zero fighting ability, zero knowledge of karate or wu shu. Part 1: Bruce Lee was a fucking actor This isn't to discredit Lee as a martial artist, as he's had a profound effect on martial arts as a whole, inspiring millions of people to take up martial arts, such as Conor Mcgregor, but while Bruce Lee did train in some martial arts like Wing Chun and was in amazing shape, the mans primary profession was acting. He wasn't some super secret badass who could destroy pro fighters, but just preferred movies. As stated by Chuck Norris, a legitimate kickboxing competitor and close friend of Lee's, stated that while Lee was good, he was not a professional fighter. Part 2: Bruce Lee was not a grappler For most of his life, Bruce focused on honing Jeet Kun Do and Wing Chun, and had very little experience with ground fighting such as Jiu Jitsu or any form of wrestling. Take any high level wrestler from the College level or even a few outlier tier wrestlers from the High school level and they'd all be able to take down Bruce easily and keep him there, due to him literally having little to no training in how to defend against a take down. People seem to have this misconception that because a fighter is large, they're slow. This is retarded. Mike Tyson was faster than Lee when he was 15, despite being a 240 pound heavyweight, Mirko Cro Cop sent people to the shadow realm with incredible fast head kicks despite being 234 pounds and Anderson Silva made people look stupid for trying to punch him for years, despite being 6'2 and 185 pounds. Part 4:Bruce Lee's striking is no where near the level of most pro fighters While Lee did train mainly in striking with Jeet Kun Do, his striking was no where near the upper levels of strikers, whether it's top level boxers or kick boxers. To show this, lets take a look at the greatest Featherweight of all time, Jose Aldo. This is Aldo perfectly setting up a liver blow against a top level competitor in Jeremy Stephens. Hitting the liver to begin with is tricky, hitting the liver without making it obvious that you're aiming for it is even trickier, but hitting it against an opponent as good as the 28-15 Jeremy Stephens is even more impressive. Doing things as crisply as Aldo does them takes hundreds upon thousands of hours of practice. Aldo also mixes his insane boxing skill with devastating leg kicks. Not only is Aldo arguably the greatest striker in MMA history, he has negated 92% of the take downs attempted on him over his 31 fights, despite consistently fighting top level, NCAA wrestlers like Chad Mendes. Aldo is the same height as Bruce Lee, at 5'7 and either slightly heavier or smaller, depending on the time period of Bruce's life. Aldo would murder Bruce Lee 11/10 times. There is a very very large gap between boxers, kickboxers and mixed martial artists who fight at the very top level, such as Mike Tyson, Chuck Norris or Jose Aldo and people who trained in martial arts and were in amazing shape, such as Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee never competed in Martial Arts, yet he's constantly put up against people like Conor Mcgregor, Mike Tyson or Muhammad Ali. This is ridiculous. Bruce was an amazing person, philosopher and martial artist, but he was not a competitive fighter and the fact that he loses to people who's job it is to beat people up for a living in no way takes away from his legacy. Lee vs any pro boxer, submission grappler, mixed martial artist, kick boxer or wrestler is almost always spite, so please stop making these threads.
