Keep saying that. You're fooling yourself. If you buy one, I'm sure you'll wind up owning 2 or 3. I bought an X-Cal in April. Liked it so much, I ordered a K100 X-Trim. They're really good.
I can do it fine as you see on the shooting impressions video, I just can't do it with my hands two feet in front of me as they have to be for these tabletop videos!
looking at the lightening cuts inside the slide, there wouldn't be anything to screw the mounting bolts into if you had the slide milled. the only option would be a rear sight mounting plate for a red dot. i wouldn't want to go that route.
i bet the 22 lr & 380 grand powers have hardly any recoil. i am curious about the p45 in .45 acp. i can't think of any other da sa 10 mm handguns. i would definately choose the p40 over the m & p & springfield 10 mms. is the rotating barrel on the grand power similiar to the beretta storm? 2 perfectly timed shots from this bad boy will put the spinner over the top for sure.
I would really like to be able to shoot that 10mm as well as other GP offerings. I like the DA/SA, manual safety, and that rotating barrel. Have not seen any locally where I live at all.
anybody looking for a grand power handgun, global ordinance & doublemdefense has almost all of the models in stock. doublemdefense, out of texas has them $70 cheaper than global ordinance. i have bought from global ordinance but i don't have any experience with doublemdefense. i will definately be giving doublemdefense a try here soon. they have really good prices. they have the arex zero 2s in stock for $764.
Bought both my Grand Powers (P1 Ultra and Stribog) from Double M Defense. Great customer service, prompt shipping, and they even offer lay away. Would definitely recommend them.
I appreciate that they decided to have one weird model for those "goofy American calibers" instead of just having say a 45 model and *maybe* a 40s&w model.
This is going to be my woods pistol soon. I debated between XDM Elite and M&P 2.0 for quite some time, but I'm a hammer-fire guy at heart and think the rotating barrel of this will tame a full power 10mm load better, despite the negligable loss in capacity. My K100 sold me on Grand Power. It's crazy how this bargain of a pistol has become my favorite, but I'm sold on the brand now. Only thing I really dislike from their design is their ungainly ambi-slidestop/release. It's bulky, and it's terribly ugly on an otherwise nice looking series. I get that the fulcrum for its action is more forward than a typic pistol's design, but I do wish they could internalise it better.
The mags I got with my 40L 10mm also indicate that 14 rounds fit into each. I have NEVER been able to load more than 10 and only 9 in most. I contacted Global Ordnance and they said they have pointed the loading problem out to Grand Power and did not get a resolution. I sent them one of my mags for testing and they sent it back and gave me two more that still load no more than 10 rounds. Oh well, still shoots well.
Looking forward to your shooting impressions. I have to think that this gun was made for 10mm pressures in part, due to its extremely robust rotating barrel design!
Have you tried shooting Underwood 10mm ammo through it or just the Double Tap stuff? Because Underwood ammo is a little bit hotter for factory and I was wondering because I'm looking into getting one of the Grand Power P40L in 10mm for deer hunting and I want to use underwood 10mm ammo
I can’t recall the name of the dovetail, but the CZ 75 sights fit the Grand Power pistols. I installed the ones made by night fision on both my P40L and K100. They fit like a glove. The front sight even has the correct pin channel in it. Also has a set screw for security.
Went to look at one of these today and it does not have a decocker or DAO mode. What happened with the new P40? The one I bought in 2018 has a decocker.
I don't think Global Ordnance has imported any decocker models since they took over import. They need to know that folks want decocker models, please senf them an email or give them a call.
Gotta admit, the Grand Power P40L looks interesting but not very tempting. I don't know if it's the absence of a decocker, the polymer frame (however, the steel chasis mitigates that somewhat), or the absence of aftermarket support. Frankly though, with a trigger like that and the safety only option it almost appears that Grand Power had hunting (Not wildlife defense) in mind.
I just picked up a K100 and wow do I love it already. I wonder if GO will ever bring in more of the .40 S&W P40's. I have a ton of .40 ammo and 10mm is just too expensive for high volume shooting.
@@GBGuns Yes, I would be carrying hammer down as well. As a long time revolver shooter I am not overly spooked with manually decocking. In fact I always have a little bit of nervousness about decockers. :D
Hard telling what you mean by that, whether you meant that it's a cheap imitation of a Glock or that Glocks are cheaply made. Not a Glock fanboy, but most folks who trash Glock only display their ignorance. Glocks were designed for and are built as highly reliable one size fits almost all duty weapons first, all other possible attrubutes are just window dressing. Frankly, and again not a Glock fanboy, if you can't shoot a Glock well you probably don't shoot any modern auto well. The usual knock on GPs is that they lack aftermarket support and even though they are reliable (function as designed when maintained) they aren't rugged...functional after neglect or abuse.
Really LR S, it's in the link at the end of the video. As I've explained dozens of times I can do it easily, but NOT with my arms outstretched in from of me as I have to do for these tabletop videos.
Looks like a very inferior copy of the Sig pistols externally, internally its a mess. Not sure how a rotating barrel reduces recoil, its like the Glock fanboys saying the plastic frame reduces recoil. Do they still blow up? Everyone else who has reviewed the Grand Power says they aren't worth anything. The 10mm is a punishing round, even a Colt Delta Elite took a long time to keep it from cracking under the pressure. I am not sure why anyone would risk so much on a gun with known problems of breakage from the 10. The wise choice is an all metal gun like the Tanfoglio. The S&W should be a good polymer gun, the Springfield, I would hold off on for a couple more years.
Your comment is terribly misguided and uninformed. Where do you get garbage information like that? Lots of time in an old-man forum somewhere? Sounds like some of the ignorant lore-based commenters on my "impossible AR" build.
If you think S&W 10mm is better than the Springfield XDM, I guess you haven’t tried either. Reduced recoil for a rotating barrel vs. a tilting barrel is plain physics.
@@GBGuns I thought about getting one, but I say too many pictures of cracked or even exploded guns. As for theses "boomers" they have more experience and subscriptions than you will ever have. Hickock45, Sooch, I know I misspelled that one badly, even the big fat guy I don't much like have more street cred. You can always tell when someone goes on personal attacks they have nothing to say.
@@jasonrhodes9683 You're right about attempting personal attacks, just like you know someone's trying to back peddle put of an argument they have no support for when they attempt to change subjects.
