Grand Theft Auto 3 Secret Car Walkthrough - Damageproof any car 

What I believe happens is, when the crane grabs the car, the game disables the car's collision file (to prevent the player from standing on top of the car and get crushed with it), as well as making the car indestructible to prevent the player from destroying the car before it is crushed. However, by entering the car again while removing a passenger from the car, the game simply forgets to remove these properties because there's no coding in the game for that - The player was never intended to be able to do this. The result is, you're able to drive a car that has no collision file and, therefore, goes through everything. Storing it in the garage re-enables the collision file, but doesn't remove the damageproof flag, so that car will be damageproof forever, even after restarting the game, as long as you save with the car inside the garage.

Can confirm this works perfectly as normal with the PC version.

My theory for why the cars starts to get larger with the time is because of how the crane should have worked in some beta version of the game. My theory is that you could actually see the car getting crushed, and it would get flat, but they scrapped that idea, and have only removed the Y axis of that animation, leaving the X axis there accidentaly, but slower.

This trick with the car crusher is useful cos you can drive through anything and also access Staunton and shoreside vale early through the porter tunnel

Yeah a heads up this will not make the car bullet proof, only crash proof, the mafia taught me the hard way

I don’t think this works in the definitive edition because as soon as you exit the taxi, the passenger exits out aswell and the taxi mission ends right away.

Can you make the Rhino tank damage proof as well?

The thing is, they are damageproof although they are not bulletproof. How do I know? because I tried it and the cars are not bulletproof.

Matt can this glitch still work even if u all ready glitched a car at the crusher can u get out of that car into the into a different car will the glitch still be active?

I've known about this one for a while now, but I wasn't aware you could do this trick with the taxis! Pretty interesting stuff.

I got that cheetah from turismo as well after my 5th try.... thats the best cheetah its bullet/collision/fire/explosion proof...better than rhino since the tank is not fire proof.....

this glitch is actually very handy for paramedic and vigilante but the stupid thing is that making those 2 damage proof causes a permanent pink marker on your map to appear

This method won’t work on iOS, taxi mission automatically ends when you get out of taxi regardless of what you press, using the taxi alone, Claude will not get back into the taxi once it’s been grabbed by magnet using fare passengers. There is a way however that does work and you are indeed free to get whatever car you wish as many times as you want. Any mission that involves ferrying a passenger such as picking up Misty which occurs a couple of times in the first few missions, also one for Ray in Staunton Island. Best to use the ghost car to drive through tunnel giving you access to the other cities and valuable garage space, though once there the cars won’t be able to travel back to Portland until official open. Just fail the mission by killing Misty as many times as you want till all your garages are full. Hope this helps.

This works with Luigi's girls but on ps2 version it doesn't after that because as soon as you get out the passenger exits with you. Must be foe PC only. May want to post that in title. Very decieving.

I use to do the first race against all the damage proof Infernus cars. Use the blow up all cars cheat and then push one of them into one of my garages to repair it. That way is a lot easier.
