Please don't be envious Dunk, just enjoy. It was a little difficult to make the video but I'm glad I did. I like watching it and seeing what I did. I was concentrating so hard on what to do, I didn't realize all that I had done until I got to sit back and watch. I may do more like that in the future. It seems folks like watching operations. I know I enjoy doing them, that's why I planned on the railyard and plus part right from the beginning. My old layout just used to go round and round and eventually it ended up just sitting collecting dust. This one will keep me busy. Thanks again.
Next I plan on adding the water effects for a river/creek, waterfalls and a lake. Then after that I want to start doing the scenic work on the 2 modules. Adding dirt, grass, maybe add some small bumps here and there so it's not so flat looking. Maybe some boulders. Also want to experiment with static grass, haven't tried that yet but think it will add more realism. After that's done, or even during, start adding more detail and people around the layout. Some RR lights and some stop lights.
Nice adjustments you made. Really like watching these Grand Valley extensions and such, even though I am in N Scale. I like to see how people build, add to, and run trains on all scales. Of course got your link from Dan's Grand Valley layout YT channel pretty sure?
Glad you like the video. That's why I've been posting. I like that everyone is willing to share their thoughts, ideas and suggestions. It makes modeling a lot more fun, at least for me. When I did my last layout 30 years ago, we didn't have this type of forum to share ideas. Yes, Dan's Grand Valley layout is a great channel as well. www.youtube.com/@DansGrandValley He shares a lot of great info and what he did getting to his current set-up.
