People don't understand that this is all a business!!!! Female athletes will keep receiving unequal pay,benefits, praise because of basic supply and demand!! Nobody is saying girls arent better than some men in sports. Female Sports just aren't popular PERIOD. How is the league and teams gonna pay these ladies the same amount as men if they can't generate the revenue. Come next year, besides the U.S. outlaws, nobody is going to follow U.S. women's soccer and I can guarantee that until the next world cup. And T.V. stations aren't going to dedicate a good amount of t.v. time to these women's games because the general population is interested in them which equals lower overall ratings which equals lower money. I'm not saying overall this won't change in the future but this is just a simple explanation for people who wonder why women seem unappreciated.
I don't wanna sound like a complete asshole but the only reason Abby has been able to out-score the likes of Neymar and Ronaldo is that.... the defenders and goal keepers aren't that great in women's Football compared to men's Football. I'm not saying they aren't great players, because obviously they all are. But c'mon, can Abby score against Neuer? can she get past the likes of Sergio Ramos and Gerrard Pique? I'm not saying Football isn't for women or Football is only for men, because Football is for everyone. No matter what race, religion, or ethnicity you are? Football can unite us all. But there's a reason why Men's Football gets more attention than Women's Football.
