I'm not kidding, the moment when Link sees his grandma on the balcony watching him sail away is one of the most touching moments in video game history.
Pre-Wind Waker: Why is Links entire family always fucking dead! Nintendo: Hm... How about we give Link living family members! After Wind Waker: Everyone's crying.
granny I still miss you to this day... This theme brings back her memories, she used to cook me my Favorite dish and asked nothing but hugs and kisses in return, if you have an awesome Granny, hug her, you will never know when will be the last time you see her... I hope granny is giving the lord a very delicious meal...I miss you...
I so agree with you. I lost my grandmother last year and my grandfather just recently. I came here, because I connect my memories of them with this song. And your text (in combination) just made me cry, so beatiful. Thanks for this. ;_;
I remember years ago, I was playing Wind Waker( getting the shield), it was time to have dinner, and about halfway through we had gotten a call concerning my grandmother... I think it was the day she was diagnosed with cancer.
My great grandmother died when I was 11 years old and my two Grand Mothers died 2008/2009 between 6 months...everytime I listen to sad music oder this song my eyes are filling with tears.
Grandma... Sniff... I-I'm not crying! No... Just something in my eyes... Sniff... EDIT: From Nov 2017, I lost my grandmother last year. This song reminds me so much of her. I miss her everyday. Love you Mammaw
When you go back to your home at night after your sister is taken and see her slumped in her chair... It killed me on the inside. Video games are truly an art form that can evoke great emotion.
Why does it make me cry ? This is just a song... Too much sadness , too much sorrow, but still wonderful ! Don't worry Grandma, I'll bring Ariel back !
this was the last song i played on my guitar for my dog before he was put to sleep.. he was really old and sick, and my parents said they wanted to end his suffering, and i agreed. before i went to school, i took up my guitar, sat next to him and played this song. as many of you said, it expresses warmth, sort of like things will be ok someday. but it also expresses sadness.
@AliaZn I've watched about two sad movies in the past few days, Listened to sad music, and felt warmth through it all. You, my friend, Are one heart filled person. God Bless you.
...keep me alive. My eyes are weary; it’s hard to stay awake; My soup is tasteless without your joy; Though I regret having you both leave; Why did you go, too? You’re just a boy. Weeks have passed; I’ve come to rest; I’ve become old. Maybe it’s for the best… For a Happier ending: …*Cue Link spreading the Fairy Dust* Hope you enjoy (and to those who lost their grandmothers, my condolences. I remember listening to this song when my grandma passed. Such beautiful music =} ).
andorn dorn there is this one cut scene when you go back home and its raining, so you go to see your grandma at her house but you find her sleeping and talking in her sleep saying" link......aryll.......don't leave me here all alone...............please
@GameMation1 youre comment moved me.. my eyes grew wet with tears just reading it.. i am really sorry for your loss. it seems like you were just as much best friends with your dog as i was with mine. and i know just how hard this is. the good bye i had to make that morning eight months ago was the hardest and saddest i have had to take. keep on to those good memories of him, because a dog is more than just a friend. a dog will NEVER hurt you, and will always be there for you
As soon as I knew she was sick, I made it my mission to get her the brightest fairy I could find. The thing is, she reminds me too much of my Grandma in real life :')
If you haven't heard from your grandmother in a while. Please give her a call. No matter how busy you think you are. Always take some time it for grandma... Because you wouldn't be here without her either...
"Link... Aryll...Don't go... Don't leave... Uhhnnn... Don't leave your poor old grandma... ...all alone... Uhnnn... Uhhhnnn..." I always get very sad when I see that.
Grandma pledge:I pledge allegence to all grandmas. All over usa and to the republic for witch it stands. All grandmas under god indivisible with faith and justice for all.
You want to know somehting ironic.... Wind Waker probably seems to be the most upbeat game in the series (style, music, humor) But it also contains some of the saddest scenes in the game
I remember playing this, every time I saw her depressed in her chair made me cry. So I found tutorials that showed me how to make her better, and the first thing I did after that was give her a fairy.
She should have eaten some of her soup... I mean she's sick and all but a fairy restores only 8 hearts, her soup restores all hearts, all magic and makes you twice as strong.
I actually gave her the rainbow firefly first before I knew I had to give her the normal fairy, I knew it wasn't gonna do anything but I thought it would keep her company :)
@XCr393 i actually find Wind Waker to be the Saddest of all Zelda games. The reason is because.. It's based 500 years after Ocarina of Time. That means the the world i grew up with as a kid and all the characters i've grown to love are all gone..
wow.. richard clayderman sure is a genius... this is definitely gotten from his song "the last days of anastasia kemsky"! to think most of my favorite game songs come from people like him... GENIUS!
@AliaZn I cried reading your story, and I NEVER cry...I bet your dog loved you and you gave him the best goodbye you could have given him, so sorry for your loss....
If you guys noticed in some other legend of zaldas theirs always an easter egg of the last zelda game!! Zelda spirit tracks you can see the lil kids are all grown up!!!!!! and you looks closely you can see theirs a pic of all the characters. Even grandma v.v
final part As you travel on your journey... If you ever feel alone... I want you always to remember... This will always be your home... So no matter where your journey ends... You can always come to me... We will always be together as a happy family...
I wish my Grandfather were still alive and my Great grandmother i remeber haveing tea with here when i was a baby my grandpa i never knew he died before my birth R.I.P Mary Rose Mansfield (died at 97 Natural causes) R.I.P Lenard Andrew Scher (died at 57 3 days afterhis birthday due to Brain And lung cancer)
I'm in danger you're aware of that But I'll always be alright For when you wake up from your deep sleep I'm the first face you will see I didn't make that up. I don't remember who did, but there's more to the lyrics and they're really nice.
It's kinda ironic in a way for myself, see I was playing WW at the departure scene when the phone rang... my own grandmother who had been diagnosed with cancer had died :(
When I look deep into your eyes I believe every thing will be alright A scream inside says “Get her back” Else grant me the neediness to Cry Till then I will be happy in the outside But crying continuously from the inside (not a poet :p)
...I imagine Grandma suddenly growing large horns, a devil tail and receiving red eyes when cooking that fairy... In all seriousness though, this song reminds me how much I love my own grandmother... Funny how powerful music can be, eh?
@Coolgirl4462- Well, to be honest, I doubt the Helmaroc King even cared that he stole the kid. To him, it's his duty. Also, he probably didn't even know who Aryll's relatives were. Unlucky, eh?
I remember when i played this game (best of all Zeldas) with my best friend on his gamecube. We were so happy when we had finally played through. He went away 2 or 3 years ago and we haven't seen us for 2 years... This song made me cry so fucking hard btw: get your granny a fairy and you will get the epic soup! and sry for my bad english
@bigcoolboy96 I just thought this but when you think about it it's your fault Grandma got sick.If she wasn't left by you it wouldn't have happened.Makes all the sadder really.Atleast you get the chance to rectify it.
