Grandpa Isn't Telling You Everything! 

I work in the medical profession. Grandpa has not taken medications and never been underneath anesthesia and has good eating habits and a pretty clean out body health-wise. Even I would have an extremely difficult time dealing with the trauma of being in a hospital and being exposed to all of the conditions, treatments and medications. My aunt had two valve replacements. She was one of the first many years ago when they put another person on the operating table to pump for your heart. Then modern surgery as her valve wore out. Each person has a different healing rate and sensitivity to medication. The first few weeks you can develop clots and medical issues from those clots so it's very important that they stay on top of this for Grandpa.

Side effects of blood thinner meds can be dizziness. This is a whole new ballgame for Ralph. He basically been healthy and not taking any prescription drugs before. The recovery from heart surgery is long and a bit daunting. All of a sudden you have a "new normal". The list of dos and don'ts is mind bending. The fustration is real. Hang in there Ralph. 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

It's so good that all three sons live close enough to their folks, Grandma and Grandpa Doss, to come help out when needed. The animals all look good, happy and healthy. I enjoyed watching the chickens go after the melon, and the piggies eating the tomatoes. Miss Kitty was having a staring contest with Chad, and I think she won. 😆 Continued prayers for Grandpa and Grandma, and all the Doss family. ❤

CHAD- those are squash bugs- you can't kill them, so don't even try. Pick everything and get rid of the plants. Watch the tomatoes, because they will go for them next. When they show up, they start with pumpkins/squash, and move on. They can wipe out an entire garden in a couple of days. When they show up, best get rid of ALL of "those" plants. They swoop in when they sense a plant is dying. But, ya don't want them laying eggs! Both of those watermelons are probably done. The first one for sure. Sometimes the curly-q's don't always dry out if the plant is getting good watering. Thanks for the update!!

It's none of our business, details are a family matter. Ralph, we just want you safe and sound. Infection and rejection can happen. Playing with med doses can create more health concerns. These are partially why recovery is in long stages. My father took six months to be closer to himself. Others take four to five on average we've known. Gentle hugs from 🇨🇦

That pumpkin was ready. When the curly cue dries up, its safe to pick. The one thing you asked what was, is strawberries. You crack me up....lol Your dad's body was used to the way his heart was. Having the surgery is making his body do something its not used too. It's going to take time. Continued prayers for him as well as the whole family.

One of the things to deal with when you have some type of major health concern is your sense of privacy and autonomy with respect to your body is going to be tested. It doesnt matter if youre reasonably open, secure, and unbothered at the onset or not. Guaranteed, someone is going to see your bare bottom whether you and staff work to prevent it or not.

Praying for Ralph to recover this quickly!! Medication can be helpful but can also be scary at times. Your dad has always been so strong💪🏽 he will pull through this once they get his meds straightened out. It’s so difficult with such a major surgery and then to get used to all the medications afterwards takes time and can have so many side affects and dizziness is one of the top ones. So relieved to hear that Grandpa Doss agreed to go to the hospital when he had that dizzy spell and fell. Recovery from this surgery is seriously tough but so is Grandpa. I was weak and dizzy every time I had a major surgery. The visiting nurse told me to make sure I always used the walker for safety. Once on the way to the bathroom I thought I would be ok without it and I fell and ended up with an awful cut by my eye when I fell against the countertop. From then on I used my walker faithfully for at least a couple months. Praying for healing.🙏🙏🙏
