Crochet Christmas tree decorations of granny squares. Includes instructions for making a basic granny square.
You need four small granny squares to create the decoration. The squares are attached diagonally. You can use your imagination is embellishing the Christmas tree baubles. You can use glitter yarn, beads, sequence and ribbons. With these granny square tree decorations you can create a lovely homemade feel for your Christmas decor!

These are so beautiful thank you. May I suggest that instead of doing your chain 2 before joining with a slip stitch that you try doing a half double crochet into the 3rd chain and so you are now placed in the correct place to do your 3 chain and 2 double crochet for the 2nd round. Hope that helps.

You can first put the automatic captions on and then get Spanish from the settings. Auto-translation is not ideal but it gives you the basic idea!

Thank you!! I love the way you start the row by CH 3 and going back to do the next 2 double (USA)) CROCHETS over the CH 3. Never seen it done that way,,makes for a clean finish at the end of the row! Awesome!! Merry Christmas from the USA

Thank you for sharing how to join them with a crochet hook. At the end of video - I'm glad you show us how to add sprinkle yarn before joining them. Would love to see updated video - How you joined a beads or bells to the corners.

I am new to crocheting and when I saw your handmade ornament being so beautiful, I had to try so I listened carefully, paid attention and waala I made 2 of these ornaments. OMG I cannot wait to make these. I run a home daycare and every year I give the kiddos a homemade ornament for Christmas. Last year was snowflakes, but this year I am doing round ornaments and angels! I am very excited to try this. Thank you for being such a great teacher!

So glad to hear you enjoyed the pattern :) Giving homemade ornaments is lovely in that people keep them for years to come! Just recently I met a lady who told me she has an ornament I made for her 25 years ago and it comes out every Christmas!
