I've decided to make shopping bags for everyone I know this year. I live in NJ, where all plastic bags have been banned. We have to use our own and most have re-usable bags for the grocery store but I, at least, do not like using those when I shop elsewhere, like in a department store or clothing store. But you need a bag. So... I'm making 2 bags for everyone. This would a good design (I plan to use a bunch of different designs.)
Thank you. Didn't have the correct hook size so used a K or 6.5 mm hook made a smaller version with a closure using a large round bead. Used RedHeart Super Saver in Café Latte. Ready to be steamed and lined.
I love your tutorial with preview of round and then your detailed how to. You make lining look easy, too. Thank you for your inspiration for this purse project! 🌹
I made this bag with macrame silky sheen and a 4.5mm crochet hook I enlarged each square until it reached 15" and I finished off with 2 rows of sc. Each ball of yarn was 100g and I used 3 might have to buy another ball for the strap.
If we use a thinner yarn and smaller hook, can we make the squares bigger by repeating the rounds? If yes which rounds should we repeat to make it bigger please?
Hi Wilma! I love your work. ❤️ I have a question though… how do you get the lining to not be so loose on the inside? I mean for it to lay flat and flush to the inside of the bag?
I've just finished by first bag, wow what a great tutorial and camerwork from finish to end! I had played with the idea of lining each square first before completing and then I realised your method would save strain on the bottom seams. A HUGE thank you 🎉❤
I made mine with a 6mm hook and macrame and it's turned out 39cm width of bottom and 37cm high BUT I did 12" squares, you can play about with the size which is great.
