Okay, embarrassing confession time! When I was like 13 I wrote a GG fanfic about the Town Troubadour falling in love with a random Stars Hollow girl, and Miss Patty was all flirty with him and played matchmaker and oh god what is my life.

When I first started watching the show, during the first season, I thought he was some type of singing narrator who wasn't really there, but then when he complained at the town meeting, I was like "I guess he's not a narrator."
My god i never realised how many times he popped up haha! I always loved seeing him in he middle of everything, just wondering around sharing his music :) I love this show
just saw him performing in Northampton,MA at the Parlor Room August 10th, awesome, great and a very nice person. He took time after the show to meet and chat. See him live if you get the chance.
Last night he played a wonderful gig in Buia, Northern Italy, and told the audience about his time on Gilmore Girls just before launching into a spectacular version of Mona Lisa. The man has it all: songwriting talent, a great voice and lots of self-deprecating humor.
Never watched the show, but this makes me want to check it out. Wish he was just hanging around my town to spread beauty like that. Thanks for compiling the clips and posting. :)
@@The_White_OwlSame! I also wish there was a full version of “Mama Tried” it’s one of my favourites up there with Heavenly and Mockingbirds Grant lee Philips is truely underrated.
...and it was a tribute, too. The band that originally did "40 Years" was called House Of Freaks, a 2-member band. Shortly before the episode with "40 Years" in it was taped, former House Of Freaks frontman Bryan Harvey, his wife, and two lovely daughters were slain in their home by intruders. Harvey was a sweetheart of a guy, and had friends all over the music industry, including GLP. "40 Years" was Grant's tribute to the memory of the Harvey family.
I just found his band (Grant Lee Buffalo) on Spotify and recognized the song that played at on the fire light fest episode. His music is so good! My mind is blown. He deserves more screen time.
I am so confused. I'm a huge fan of both GLP and Grant-Lee Buffalo but have never witnessed even a minute of this show. I think I slept through the early 2000s.
I never watched GG so I didn't even know Grant was in it, until I saw him perform a couple months ago. Thanks for putting this video together! My favorite GLB release....Fuzzy.
i have to agree... just watched a rerun of the Hay Bale Maze episode this week....and the song really grabbed my emotions... for some reason the acoustic versions have that real and emotional edge to them thanks for the complete collection of troubadour songs ... it made my day
Nothing gonna break heart your today Nothing gonna steal your light away, no Even when the skies are turning gray Ah, you're gonna welcome in the rain, yeah Come on, come on Ah, let me hear it another time Come on, come on I?ll raise the spirit Nothing gonna chain you once your free Haven't gotta live in misery, no Even when you tried out every key But still another door worth opening, yeah Come on, come on Ah, let me hear it another time Come on, come on I?ll raise the spirit Music in your heart, coming on in waves, love But thunder in your head is rolling away Nothing gonna twist your arm again Nothing gonna sway you like the wind, no Nothing gonna get under your skin Nothing gonna twist your arm again, no Come on, come on Ah, let me hear it another time Come on, come on I?ll raise the spirit Come on, come on Ah, let me hear it another time Come on, come on I?ll raise the spirit
Hey thanks! Exactly what I was looking for!! Actually I am looking for a CD with all this songs but I didn't find it. But already know the songs he sang in gilmroe girls helps a lot!! thank you!
The last song, "Raise the Spirit," I like the acoustic version in the Hay Bale Maze better than the version on the album. I know that's weird, but it feels prettier and more emotional.
I forgot Grant Lee Phillips was on the show. I only started watching Gilmore Girls because of the cool indie music namedrops which were completely lost on average Gilmore Girl fans
Now I was forced to watch this series by my exgirlfriend, and the story really sux :D But there's all kinds of great music in it, and I'm a huge GLP fan, so I got kindda shocked when I found out that he was the in it.
