Full pedestrian access to Grantham Market Place is being maintained throughout the improvement works and all our shops, markets and local businesses are trading as normal.
There is plenty of car parking within easy walking distance of the town centre - some of it only a minute away from the Market Place.
The work will make the area safer for pedestrians, create a single, level, open space for our traditional weekly market and include refurbishment of the Conduit Lane public toilets.

Our vision is to bring back a busy, thriving, Market Place and this has already started with events and family entertainment being provided on market days throughout the roadworks period.
We continue to urge everyone to support the high street and local businesses.
A feast of family entertainment has been lined up for visitors to Grantham Market over the coming weeks.
Bubbles, balloon modelling and circus skills will be among the entertainment on offer at the market on Narrow Westgate.
The entertainment, organised by South Kesteven District Council, will showcase the variety of events and activities that could be a regular feature in the area following improvement work currently under way at Grantham Market Place.
The improvements have been funded as part of a £4.19 million investment from the Government’s Future High Street Fund. The work will transform both the Market Place and the Conduit, where refurbished toilets will be re-opened.
As well as building on current projects to refresh shop fronts and enhance the appeal of the town, a second phase will improve the town centre approach from the railway station to create a pedestrian-led environment.
We understand the disruption works like this can cause but the benefit of a multi-use, social space for local people and visitors in the heart of Grantham cannot be overestimated.
Once completed, a programme of events and activities will help welcome visitors back into the area and continue to drive footfall to the town.
In the meantime, all businesses in Market Place, Conduit Lane and Narrow Westgate remain open and fully accessible by foot, with several car parks within a few minutes walking distance.
