Wow! I was really struggling to understand this disease, so I watched several videos. This one was the most helpful. It also provides detailed and additional information, which is great for exams. Thank you, an excellent piece of content! Love from TURKEY ❤
I was diagnosed with Wegener's granulomatosis 10 years ago and I have been in remission until a few months ago. Now I'm in the middle of a severe relapse. Currently trying methylprednasolone Bactrum and Leflunomide. I'm not sure which makes me feel worse, the disease or the meds. Hopefully one of you medical people out there will develope a cure for this nasty disease. I know the steroids and immunosuppressive drugs treat the vasculitis, but no one ever seems to offer a drug that helps with feeling sick and weak and in pain. If anything, the treatment exacerbates the discomfort. Opioid pain meds are a Godsend for those of us in severe pain, or they used to be, but now they are socially unacceptable because some people abuse them. Being forced to live in pain because some junkies can't control themselves is ridiculous. The medical community needs to find a way to address pain without treating normal patients like we're all potential addicts.
Wicked Coolname I’m here because a friend has the disease. Have you looked at marijuana medical edibles? They may be able to help. Medical dispensaries are a wealth of knowledge. Hope you get some relief! 😄
@@bcfriardoyle7697 No. I don't have much faith in marijuana as a pain medicine. Only because I smoked pot from my mid terms through my 30s. Not for any medical reasons, but just to get high. I don't recall it ever doing anything for pain. But, I'm open to trying again. It might not help, but it probably can't hurt.... No pun intended.
Wicked Coolname it will return your white blood cell count to Normal, and reverse the effects of the disease, luckily for me here in Australia, the government provides the drug free of charge
Would you be able to review a case of wegener's with gastrointestinal and CNS/brain involvement, possibly on RU-vid or your website? This was very very interesting. I have wegener's vasculitis (GPA) with involvement that seems to be less common.

"This is everything in the world you need to know about Granulomatosis with Polyagiitis." Umm no. Patients are easily fatigued, muscle weakness, joint pain. This continues for many even after treatment Not enough Dr's are addressing that part of this disease. There's also "Limited" GPA which does not affect the kidneys but the word limited does not mean less serious or less in need of treatment. "Limited" can change and maybe affect the kidney's with a disease flare. Let's add a few more C's: Flares are Common. PneumoCystis Pneumonia prophylaxis - BaCtrim DS 3x per wk, Childless -Cyclophosphamide causes birth defects and early menopause (wish my Dr knew about that) Bladder Cancer - also caused by Cyclophosphamide tablets (something else my Dr didn't know). This is why Rituxan is used for initial therapy now as well as maintenance. Thank you for getting the word out about this rare disease. : ) Dx'd 2002
