I agree except with the terrible frame rate on some games. Playing something like Earth Defense Force 2025 just doesn't compare to playing the improved EDF 4.1 or even World Brothers.

I always liked the visuals for 7th gen. Stuff was finally really really clear. But performance was really bad imo on a ton of games on my ps3 duding heavy scenes. If i were able to generalize I’d say i played more consistently performing ps2 games than ps3. Although i think ps4/xbone is probably the worst generation when it comes to performance and even looks (except for some amazing first party games obviously). Just kinda not impressive from a 2013-2019 standpoint. Like every single game was 30fps and theres some seriously bad graphical third party games that look like 7th gen on these things imo. I think this new gen is going to be historically good from a graphical point

@@thatvideogamesshow , one game that honestly shines on the PS3 (though it also had Xbox 360 and PC ports of the game that were equally as impressive) that you have not mentioned on your list is Driver: San Francisco. Granted, I hated the science fiction twist in the game, but, graphically, as well as driving wise, it is, by far, one of the best experiences in a driving game that literally no one talks about from the Seventh Generation of Video Games and, honestly, overall, that game is every bit as much of a high point of the series as Driver 2, Driver: Parallel Lines, and Driver '76 were before that game.

Sic Semper, et al, if you all are willing to go back a generation in video games, then the Castlevania games for the PS2 are also worth your while.

Castlevania games have done nothing but improve its just that the original fan base is extremely anal, for me the best one was curse of darkness, but lords of shadows is no slouch

I bought a ps3 super cheap on a buy/sell page about 2 years ago. If you can stomach the load times (coming from pc) then you'll find all lot of classics pc gamer have never seen got.

Also, sometimes, good games just simply get overshadowed by games that are just as good, yet also are made by companies that have much larger budgets, including ones for advertising. Perhaps one of the biggest, as well as best, examples, of such a practice being put into action is the very first Wild Arms game going against Final Fantasy VII. Now, in hindsight, Final Fantasy VII was only okayish, not because it was in 3D, but because its story honestly paled in comparison to its predecessor, plus it was also predictable, bland, and boring as fuck, but Wild Arms, on the other hand, was honestly a breath of fresh air (and, if you lack a PS1, you can get the game on the PlayStation Network for the PS4 and PS5, you can get its remake on the PS2 that is called Wild Arms Alter Code: F, or get that remade game on the PlayStation Network for the PS4 or PS5) when it came to its storytelling and most of the games in the franchise were actually good games, though Wild Arms 4 and Wild Arms XF were kind of disappointments.

Remember Me reviewed poorly. Visually it was super nice but the neo-Paris setting was just a facade. The game was very linear, almost shuffling you from one fight arena to the next with no exploration. The fighting was also simple and bland. This is what I remembered from playing it at release. Stunning visually but coupled with boring gameplay after an hour or so.

It’s well worth it! Such a great game IMO.

Ps2 graphics were good in many games imo eg. 007 Nightfire, but only on CRT tvs.
