Whoever designed these orbs should have to receive their paycheck in similar quantities. “Hey Fred, you have a one in 300 chance of getting all of your paycheck today! Oh, bummer you only get $5 of it today. Hope you have better luck tomorrow!”
The lighting is the worst offender, the darks are too dark and the brights are too bright. The lighting on characters look really flat and almost makes them look textureless.
I'm almost 55 and was so happy to see Reddit bitching about it because my first thought was am I old? Does this look better to young people? We're not that old; cheers! This update is terrible.
The lighting engine needs work. It’s washing out some parts and making other areas too bright. They need to tone down the red/orange in war because it just washes out all the colors on the characters. I like some of the changes, but It's just too jarring at some points. I know the game is using the Unity engine, but I wish they would have remade it in Unreal that has a more realistic lighting engine. Most other engines you have to fake a lot of the lighting and if it's not done right it looks terrible.
I don't know about engines and all that but the fact is that we would all be happy with comic book graphics. Of the gazillion complaints folks have about this game, I've never seen a complaint about graphics. The ONE thing they were always solid on, they just HAD to f with it!
Unreal is a GREAT engine. I agree, some of the backgrounds and the cut animations look great but literally all of the characters look absolutely horrendous.
@@johnn.2017 Well the graphics were starting to look dated to be honest. They could have held this off for a couple of more years. Maybe create a PC client, so people are not forced to use emulators on the PC first before a graphics update. Maybe this is the first stage of making a PC client, who knows. The lighting engine is not reacting to the material shaders to well. It's why we are seeing that plastic look on a lot of the materials on the characters.
I feel you I've gotten random crashes as well. My wife's battery almost exploded. Her phone kept turning off for overheating. I took off the back and the battery was blown up like a balloon.
I'm really perplexed with the update. It hit my Bluestacks yesterday, game wouldn't launch anymore. Gave LDPlayer a try and it wouldn't go above 30 fps (didn't see the blog till now). Removed it, reinstalled the Android 11 version of bluestacks, fired up msf, new graphics and im getting 60fps. Not doing anything special and it's definitely running at it. No 60 fps option in the settings either.
why cant the graphics update be an opt in/out why do i have to choke down their alpha testing without asking my permission. game is nearly unplayable with the overheating/framerate dropping way below 30 for me. I may have to quit.
Only problem I have with the graphics is that, for some reason, when I am playing any battle (in any mode) at x3 speed, the camera moves like it does at 1x speed. It zips around from character to character and is quite disorienting sometimes.
@@ultdat Not sure how I could have done that. It happened when I loaded the update. I thought it was a feature, but maybe it is the default in each version. I'll fiddle with the settings. Thanks.
Never been so happy to see multiple people bitching on Reddit! Thought it was my eyes because I'm getting old! I was so happy to see that lots of folks think the update looks bad and it was unnecessary. They're like "You know what would make this game better? If we f with the lighting and make all the toons look like they're covered in baby oil!" Wtf?
Another thing is my phone gets super hot now when the game is running more than 20mins. This is happening after the graphic update. Why did they have to change anything graphics wise??? It was fine as it was.
I don’t even know how to describe it, but every character feels me with unease now. Like, I feel like I never appreciated enough the models prior to this update before. 😅
I like the graphics update. It just needs a little tweaking to hit the sweet spot. They shouldn't have disabled the 60 frame rate. It should be players choice to disable it. Just inform player thats what's heat up phones and let the choose whether or not to turn it off. My phone is new and was completely fine!
I didn't have any lag in the game, I think the new graphics are bad ass. Works on my phone just fine, smooth as ever, you can change the resolution on your phones btw
The fps when playing, scrolling menus, opening orbs... all in the gutter. On top of the game being almost unplayable, it looks REALLY bad now. What is the incentive to keep playing right now Scopely?
the graphics is fugly, i don't even know how anyone with the right mind thinking this looks good, are they trying to sabotage their own game ? this is ridiculous
I didn't have no issue with the new lighting and menu changes, I just hate how the frame rate dropped. Especially coming from an Android user, seem like I just gotten use to the frame rates being the fastest it's been, now I'm back with this bs.
I Kinda was mixed about the graphical changes i kinda like it, but not on every character, I think it looks nice on basic Silver Surfer for example and some of the really old models actually look nicer. But its on the eye of the beholder at the end of the day, it runs good on my phone so i dont got issues.
I play on the galaxy tab s9, galaxy s24 ultra and my pc and had no issues, but my friend who uses an s22 and an iPad have been having a lot of issues. It's very odd.
THANK YOU!!! I thought I was the only one that thinks this SUCKS! This is like the jump from Marvel vs Capcom 2 to 3. Unnecessary and ruining a good thing. I don't even want to look at this game right now.
The updated graphics aren't great but as of now, least of my problems. All new characters need to be ftp unlock, no matter the characters. Crimson mini's need to be more accessible. And more dark promos wouldn't hurt.
I give them until the end of the month and I’m uninstalling this. The art and animations have always been the main draw for me, but on my iPhone, it is now barely visible in battles. Everything looks purple and black. 🤷♀️
I’m so glad I’m not fuckin trippin went into global to see if I was the only one they gaslit tf outta me, game looks like absolute shit (shading wise) everything’s dark and the whole game not just the battles feels slow and clunky. I would expect these problems if my phone couldn’t manage it but I’ve got a 15 pro max and this is all happening
Can we talk about this new Back to the Wasteland event. So if you have Emma Frost at one diamond now you need to rank her up to two and then three diamonds to get those points? Are they even trying to keep people in the game?

I play on samsung fold 5 and mine looks exceptionally better except the war screen all rooms look boosted and some of the dd7 rooms look off but otherwise seems good on my device
I can’t even log in, I tried Saturday morning, it won’t load past 38% 0.58mb/1.38mb I don’t want uninstall and reinstall, bc I’ll be devastated if I lose all my stuff
