Hey Mr.Tarrou! You're doing an intense amount of help to the community of people trying to learn math. All of your videos are extremely helpful and I enjoy learning from them. I check your videos first before going any where else. Thank you for everything.
Hey Prof. u have the real concept of what education should be, a taste humor, a sip of energy and a smell of straight-forward-ness. Video was not only funny to watch but very simple to understand and easy to memorize. Thanx a billion u just made me have an A in Precal
Thank you for always watching and supporting me...I have been known to make and have to correct a mistake or two and I have been told more than once that I have a tendency to ramble...teaching is a hard job sometimes but because of students like you it makes all the hard work worthwhile!
(glad you liked the music too) Thank you for spreading the word about my channel...these videos take a lot of time to do in addition to my full-time teaching job, so it's nice to hear comments like yours that reenforce the reason to continue my quest to "Make Math Fun"!!!
THANK YOU!! I've been having problems with pre-calculus - graphing specifically - for 2 semesters and have to pass this class to go on to classes needed for my major. I understand it completely after ONE of your videos! You rock!
Thanks for subbing and sharing the nice compliment! It's hard somedays to stay enthusiastic but students like you remind me why we work so hard and it's all worth it!!!
ProfRobBob I have two maths subjects and you remind me of one of them! (the other one is the stereotypical "i don't want to be here" teacher) He's currently my favourite teacher too so yeah teachers are under appreciated and I'm so happy when I have teachers who actually like what they do!
Sounds like the perfect time to tell the "stereotypical" teacher about my channel as a free study resource for all the rest of their students and also to take the time to share your appreciation with your "favorite" teacher, even if it's on a "thank you" note! As a teacher I can assure you that's something we don't often hear from our students:( (that we are doing a great job, or someones favorite teacher)...so take the time to tell your teachers whenever you can...and make a teachers day...BAM!!! Don't get me wrong...I have had many students over my 20 years of teaching that gave me cards or notes and my wife even started a notebook years ago to save them!
ProfRobBob That reminds me, he'll be on long service leave next year so this is the last year I see him before I go to uni. The whole class likes him so I think we'll give him a goodbye card and some shirts with maths jokes in it (he loves them hahah). Thanks again!
The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. Thanks for inspiring and demonstrating. Wooo! time to do my HW.
Thank you sooooo much for your videos. I’m currently taking pre-cal and I have really been struggling. I stumbled onto your videos about a month ago and they've been of great help. My teacher doesn't explain things very well but your explanation has helped so much. I wish you were my math teacher.
I so appreciate your methodical and lively explanations. I'm taking pre-calculus online and basically teaching myself out of the book. It's SO helpful to have additional explanations and examples since I never took trigonometry in high school. Thank you!
Thanks for the thoroughness of your videos. Your focus on deep comprehension rather than algorithms and "going through the motions" is evident. Awesome!
Jennifer Freeman you're welcome and thanks for watching, studying, liking, subbing, and taking the time to share your appreciations for my channel! I hope this means you are telling all your friends to watch and do the same to help us keep growing:D
Thanks to your videos, I pulled an A+ in both semesters of Pre-Calculus last year and I am now doing well in AP Calculus. I wish you were my math teacher.
I am in awe of how well you can demonstrate and explain and truly make me "feel" the subject matter with all my being. Thank you so very much for awe-inspiring teaching style and for your good intentions of helping others to learn. God Bless You always.
+Mandy Hamilton thanks you for watching, subbing and taking the time to share your appreciation for my channel and teaching style! Please continue to share your learning experience and my channel with friends, classmates and teachers too, as you remind them all how important it is to the growth of these free educational channels to like, subscribe, support the ads, share thru social medias and with others:D
Hope you're feeling better Hanna Hunt and thanks for choosing #ProfRobBob to get caught up with, glad I could help! Please help me by sharing my channel with everyone and remind them to like, SUBSCRIBE and spread the word:D...and please share how helpful my channel was with your teacher to also share as an additional study reference with all their students...BAM!!! You're a hero and help my channel groW and help others all at the same time!
Good thing there are all kinds of love…as much as I appreciate the likes "I'd love it if you'd subscribe!!! …lol Seriously…thanks for liking and I appreciate you choosing my channel to learn from:)
My college has 3 sections in pre-cal and i took the first section and passed the class, which, reinvigorated my love/understanding for math, however, I am currently taking the 2nd section pre-cal and the teacher is destroying my love for math. Your videos are so helpful and definitely made me love math again! I wish I had you as a teacher, thank you so much!
You're welcome. You just stick with me Alex Nguyen and we'll conquer that class together...I'll just get to be your RU-vid teacher! Since you were so supportive to Like and Subscribe already my videos will be there for you 24/7:) Thanks for taking the time to send such a nice compliment...I hope I continue to grow your love of math too!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I missed a week of Pre-Calc recovering from surgery. But you just taught me in fifteen minutes the same thing my friends learned in class in a matter of days, and you somehow make it so simple! This girl is officially caught up! :) thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou
Jessica Harper you are so welcome, glad to hear it was so helpful for you!!! And THANK YOU for choosing my channel to learn from and sub to! I hope you are feeling better and when you return to class please share my channel and your experience with all your classmates and the teacher as an additional study reference for ALL students:D And please remind them to like, subscribe, support the ads, like us on Facebook, share thru social medias and remind everyone to do the same in order to support these free educational channels and help them remain FREE :)
Sorry for the delayed reply...I just saw this as I was answering another comment. I have all comments set for approval but never saw yours till now:( THANK YOU so much for supporting my efforts and sharing my channel with your students! It means alot when another teacher feels confident in recommending a channel!
Really, I mean this, thank you so much for all your hard work. You're enhancing the lives of so many people. I can tell you're passionate about this and unfortunately all teachers aren't as amazing as you are, but you found a way to bring knowledge to people who need and want it and you inspire them. Even though you can't see their faces and they may forget to thank you, their lives, education, careers are better for it
+int warrior THANK YOU for such a heartfelt and appreciative comment...comments like yours constantly remind my wife and I "WHY" we work so hard to continue to grow this channel! Today we finally passed the 100,000 subscriber mark, it only took four and a half years:( So please keep liking, subbing, supporting the ads and sharing all the free educational channels that you find helpful because we all work hard to share our passion of teaching and knowledge with those students you spoke of who "need and want" to take advantage of all the knowledge they can absorb...BAM!!!
I've been watching your videos for quite some time now but subscribed recently. Whenever I needed help last year, I'd look for RU-vid tutorials and I'd always end up at your videos. Thanks a lot!
I love your videos. I actually teach Precalulus through an Online School. Sometimes it's difficult to explain concepts to students via the phone or even using chatrooms. I find your videos to be a great source to send my students for more clarification.
I always watch your videos afterschool daily because they're so helpful! (: I wish our school had teachers that teach as well as you do. ): Honestly, my teacher always makes mistakes while showing us problems or else he'll ramble about some other topic. If it isn't in the homework, he won't show us what to do, just "look in the back of the book" and "just plug and chug!" Thanks for all the great help; hopefully I'll be able to keep my grade up
THANK YOU Nicole for taking the time to let me know how much you like my channel. I'm so happy to hear that my teaching style and videos have been so helpful to you! I hope you share with your friends too:D Now that you have subscribed...your wish has been granted:)...you can tune into one of my videos whenever you want me to teach you something!
Professor RobBob,thank you for an exceptional video/lecture on Graphing Secant/Cosecant with t-table in trigonometric terms. These Trigonometric functions are fairly simple to graph.
THANK YOU Brian for taking the time to send such an appreciative comment! Students like you are why I continue donating many hours of personal time to share my passion of teaching math with students who are hungry to learn :) Keep watching, sharing and supporting my efforts with others in my quest to groW my channel to it's full potential. And never loose that passion for learning and pursuing your dreams!
my school started getting freshly graduated teachers so that they can pay less! can u imagine that! and most of them are really bad, so I've got lots of studying at home. thank god i found your videos, thank you and keep the good work up :)
Thanks for your video. Lately I've been having to find youtube videos to help me through math, since my precalculus teacher has a hard time explaining what she is doing on the board. But I really appreciate how well you teach. I will make sure to keep your channel on my list of excellent math guides.
+Jaden A Taylor Thank you so much!!! You can find my Precalculus playlist on the homepage of my channel or you can go here... www.profrobbob.com/pre-calculus where the lessons are even more organized. I hope you do great in your math class:)
You're welcome, happy to help bockman55 and thanks for choosing #ProfRobBob to learn from! Now you can help me by liking, SUBSCRIBING, supporting the ads and telling all your friends, class and teachers to watch and do the same to help us keep growing and helping others like you:D
Thankyou So Much . Your way of teaching is Most Helpful to me truly, amongst all the online teaching platforms the I have come across . Best of luck profRobBob...
THANKS for the well wishes Uzzal and for tuning in! Please sub and share this free resource with friends, classmates and especially teachers, so ALL current and future students have the opportunity to watch and learn if they choose...BAM!!!
Kinda confused at first. But once you explained that because of the reciprocal, the fractions that approach zero become whole numbers, AND once you did the t-chart with sin and drew the asymptotes for the reciprocal function... I realized how great this video was in helping me. BAM!!! Thank you!!! BAM!
Man!!! I'm really gonna go do my home work now. You made everything look so easy. Explanations are really on point. Neatness, a 100%. Delivery is so damn good. I've spent 4 hours on "mymathlab" and got nothing. Just spent 15mins watching this tutorial, and I've learnt a lot. Thanks so much. More blessings.
BAM!!! Just what every teacher loves to hear:) ...and thanks for the positive comments, we really appreciate the positive feedback. I do love teaching and it's nice to hear it shows thru my videos! Thanks for studying with Tarrou's Chalk Talk and please take the time to like, subscribe and share this channel with everyone and please remind them how important it is to sub, support and share all the free educational channels on RU-vid that you find helpful so we continue to grow and remain free for everyone:D
LOL...first time for that compliment:)) I've been teaching upper level high school math for 17 years and love what I do...so it's easy to translate that to the camera. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you sooo much. My teacher isn't the best so usually I rely on my text book to teach me. But they can be kind of hard to decipher. This video helped me out a lot. I was never taught to make my 'c' value, phase shift and count have the same denominator, and was never shown how to even find a count in order to set up my T-table.
I'm glad to hear that you took the time to seek additional help on RU-vid and chose #ProfRobBob to teach you Brandon Bravos I hope in turn you will like, SUBSCRIBE and share your learning experience and my channel with your friends, class and teachers as an additional study reference...word of mouth is our only form of advertising and our dream is 100,000 subscribers by 2015...BAM!!! So get busy spreading the word thru social media, like me on Facebook and reminding them all to SUBSCRIBE!
ProRobBob you have no idea how much it means to me that you used the t-chart I NOW KNOW HOW TO GET MY X AND Y VALUES!!! I ASKED SOO MANY PEOPLE TO HELP ME UNDERSTAND AND YOU FINISHED IT IN ONE VIDEO!? THANK U!!
+I'm just saiyan all I can say to that comment is.............BAM!!!! Nice job studying and thanks for choosing my channel to learn from, like and sub to!
+ProfRobBob but I do have a question what if you solve for your period and get 2π/π does that just equal to 2?because I have an equation that is f(x)= 3sec(x-π/4)-1 then I just took the 4 out and made f(x)=3sec(4(x-π))-1 did I do that right?
+I'm just saiyan You may like the coefficient of x to be one since it is easier to see what the phase shift is. Not sure why you tried to take out the 4....which by the way if you redistribute the four you took out the answer is 3sec(4x-4pi). How did you get the pi symbol to show up?!
+I'm just saiyan You question about the period, I do have a question what if you solve for your period and get 2π/π does that just equal to 2, the answer is yes. It does not relate to your problem though. The period of y=sin(pi(x)) would be 2 for example.
Thank you so much for the videos! I learn more in the 15 minutes that it takes you to teach these concepts than the hour and a half it takes my professor to half-assed explain them and work out examples. She has a masters in applied mathematics but I think she needs to spend some time in your classroom and learn how to teach her students appropriately.
Thanks for watching...please feel free to share my channel with her as "an additional study reference", then she can share it with ALL her students...BAM!!! (don't forget to remind everyone how important it is to subscribe to all the feee educational channels to help us grow and remain free for everyone)
That's awesome Jeremiah Williams thanks for choosing to watch and learn from my channel...I chose to carry over my teaching style into my videos because that's what I knew when I started this channel, to help a student...then chose to keep that style since there were so many channels that teach similar to Khan style. Good luck with that class...hope you pass it like BAM!!!
I am very excited my videos are helping you so much, that is exactly what I am hoping to do:) Thank you for watching. I believe if you ever went into teaching you would be a wonderful teacher. Your kind words mean a lot to me:):):):)
Thanks for the recommendation! I'm now a new fan! :o) And yes, I've watched 2 more so far - the graphing is what I've been unable to understand. I'll be recommending your channel to my class this semester, and will be watching EVERYTHING. :oD You've given the math students of the world an invaluable resource!
Thank you for sharing how helpful my videos are with your on-line class. My wife and I are continually searching for new places to share my "FREE" video help and it sounds like we should contact some of the on-line companies....any suggestions? Thank you for choosing my channel to watch and learn from:)
Thank you for this video! They way you explained it and the process is just amazing. I used you method, and now I am finally understanding it. I did a couple examples from my book, and the answers are matching up. You are by far the most helpful and best damn (excuse my french) youtuber! Thank you so much! I just finished watching this video!
I have been having quite an issue with Trig these past few semesters! It is the only class I need before I graduate with my Bachelors. After this I can move on to my PhD in Psych! Just wanted to say thank you for making this all understandable, the teachers at my university are so bad at explaining it! You will help me get my A !
WOW!!!..thanks for choosing to search for the help you needed in order to help you complete your class and get that degree! YOU made that choice to search for help and I was there to supply you with the help you needed to complete the course:) THANKS for making me feel so important by liking, subscribing and taking the time to "thank the teacher"! Sounds like you need to share your learning experience and my channel with the head of the math department as a study reference for your university:) Keep the dreams big and the motivation strong because it's all worth it in the end...you are the one responsible for your success.
ProfRobBob I do have one question though, I am working through some problems right now and I am stuck on one because I have never seen a function like this. The function is : y=8+9cos4(x-3). What would the amplitude be for this function? If it is the =+9 then what is the 8 in the function?
Monica Sexton Notice how the 8 is just a number (constant) that is off by itself. You can rewrite this if you like as y=9cos4(x-3)+8. The 8 is the vertical shift.
Thank you, so glad you found my video so helpful! And thank you too for supporting and subscribing, please share with others who may find it as helpful as you did...and that will help me by helping my channel grow:))
@willznc I will put in an annotation within my first example. I did note in the corners that cosine=x/r and secant=r/x...but more reminders in varying forms is always a good thing:)
THANK YOU for taking time to share your break thru with me:) I love to hear about those a-huh! moments when everything becomes a bit clearer and easier to understand, and that my video helped you find it:) Keep watching and be sure to share my channel and your experience with others and help my channel groW!
That's jsut what I did lol. Aced my trig test btw!!! Did it in a math lab filled with talking students and tutors. Walked out with a 93 due to arithmetic errors. So thanks a million
Omar Khattab BAM!!! That's what I'm talkin about:) CONGRATULATIONS..I hope you will be sharing that success along with my channel publicly and don't forget to SUBSCRIBE and support free educational channels like mine to help them groW and keep them FREE!!!
SeljakMagnum THANK YOU for choosing Tarrou's Chalk Talk to learn from and the compliment! Please do the same and spread the word to your classmates and friends...and remember to SUBSCRIBE to support these FREE educational channels!!!
I teach similar to my "Blitzer" Pre Cal book...plus I try to teach "where the answers come from" rather than just the formulas. I hope to hear good news about that final yesterday:)) I also look forward to being your teacher from afar! Thanks for watching and for your support...and please share my channel with your friends:D
It's made by "Island Republic" and it's a medium...I'll send it to you if you want it GORDUNFREMUN ! I'm glad you found my lesson so helpful and hope that you will continue that appreciation by liking, subscribing and spreading the word that #ProfRobBob is so good he'd even give you the shirt off his back!...lol
Oh, I love you man, everthing is so easy now. Thank you so much! I showed it to my friends and they instantly fall in love with you. I'll keep track on your channel :)
AWESOME Minh Anh Lưu thanks for choosing #ProfRobBob and sharing with your friends...don't forget to remind them how important it is to like, subscribe and share to keep these free educational channels growing and remain free:D
It's true that starting teachers salaries are smaller, but the growing problem is that great teachers are going to be harder and harder to find if the pay rate does not increase. How is it that any sports player gets paid millions to play a game they love but the teachers get paid peanuts to get them to that point?! We work many long hours for a minimal salary... which means most of us do it because we LOVE what we do, and do it for students like you. Thanks for subscribing and your support!
You are SO welcome:) Thanks for choosing...You can help me by sharing my channel with all your friends and make sure they like and subscribe to support!
I must tell you that you made me love math. Like literally! *sobs* Thank you for making math easy and simple unlike my professor. Haha. Cheers to you Sir! BTW, I'm always convincing my friends to check out your channel if they have any problems with math ^^
Sameerah Lacson thanks, that compliment almost brings a tear to my eye too! You're welcome and we appreciate the sharing...please remind them all to like, subscribe, support the ads and share with all their friends to help these free educational channels keep growing and remain FREE!
I am glad I could help you understand Secant & Cosecant graphs...didn't mean to shock you!!! I can't give up my chalkboard...the name of my RU-vid channel wouldn't make any sense:D Thanks for watching and the nice comment. Please help me by spreading the word about my math channel.
Thanks for watching, learning and subbing randy ! I wish I could make videos full-time and add to that Calc2 playlist but there are just not enough hours in the day until someone discovers me and wants to fund me to do that:( Keep spreading the word and helping my channel groW...100,000 subscribers by 2015...BAM!!
I'm Just saying. You're my go to guy for supplemental lectures. I'm just a tad bit sad you don't have any material on Calc 3. I'll have a good foundation anyways with all of this material. Thank you again and keep up the good work!
+Kevin Chopp THANKS for being such a loyal subscriber! Sorry I don't have Calc3 for you, I was hoping someone would discover me by now and I could take a leave from school to make videos full-time but it hasn't happened:( So now I devote most of my free time to closed captioning and I'm still teaching full-time. Thanks for sharing your appreciation because it's always nice to hear that all this hard work continues to help students...that's why I made them, and why I love teaching! I hope you keep sharing my channel and reminding students to subscribe...Hip Hughes and I are in a race to 100,000 subscribers and I can't let history beat out math...BAM!!!
LOVE to hear that I helped get you to that moment of "click" when the "light comes on" and the struggle is over! Thank you for supporting by liking and subscribing. Please share my channel with your friends and classmates and ask them to do the same and help my channel groW in order to offer FREE MATH HELP to others all over the world:)
I hope this helped you to go into that mid-term with the confidence you acquired after watching this video!...and I hope you will return to watch more videos after telling all your friends about my channel first:D...lol
HAHA! Making sure everyone is awake before I start teaching:D Oh Yeah...I yell BAM my actual class too. I hope those headphones aren't too loud. Thanks for watching and the comment:)
Yippppeeee!!! I love to hear that it only took ONE video...but I hope now that you have subscribed and added a playlist of my videos that you will continue to watch MORE!!!! (speaking of rock-in...check out JJ Heller for her music...my wife specially loves "boat song" and she subscribes to Kari and Mindy too)
I like the way you use the chalk board, at my school we have "smart boards" but with the chalk board you can go much more in depth.....your lessons have he
As you make more and more graphs you can start to see the patterns quicker...but teaching by short cuts does not work for me. It is commendable that you have the self-motivation to find the extra help you need...that is the secret to success!!!
All I can say is it sounds like you are going to need to add a couple of points to your t-table...just to the left and right of the vertex of your "parabola". They have symmetry too so you may just do one extra point and know where the other should be. You will need to ask your teacher.
Now that you subscribed I can be your teacher whenever you need teaching:D Did you just find my channel?..or have you been watching since last year? Regardless, congratulations on the PERFECT grades...keep up that GPA!
You're welcome and THANK YOU for subscribing! Please continue your support by spreading the word about my channel to help it groW and continue to help other students like you:D
You're welcome....and THANK YOU Jessica for making me #1 on your subscriber list:) Please keep sharing and telling your friends to like and subscribe to support FREE educational channels like mine and help us continue to groW and help others!
