@@wendycarriage9731 Realism is when it's clearly not a cartoon style, when the artist is clearly trying to imitate real life, but the drawing is not as real as can be. Hyperrealism is the next step, when it doesn't even look like a drawing, when it looks like real life or a photograph. In hyperrealism, you can see the skin pores, and every little detail. Also, there can't be any major mistakes. For example, her left eye is placed slightly too high. This drawing is 100% realistic, and only a couple steps below hyperrealism, because Rosie's makeup hides her pores and only reveals smooth skin, but still. You would be able to see more texture in the hand if it were hyperrealism. The easiest way to put it is that if you can't tell it's a drawing at first glance, it's hyperrealism, if you can tell it's a drawing, it's realism. Now, there is photorealism too, which is when the artist copies a reference photograph exactly. It's similar to hyperrealism, but I think hyperrealism adds more details than is shown in the photo, because we don't always see every detail that's present in a photo due to blurring, hyperrealism reveals every detail that's present. So it goes, realism, photorealism and hyperrealism. I personally think photorealism looks the best because when you add too many small details, it kinda looks fake in my opinion. But it's definitely the most challenging style to achieve in any medium.
I have watched this video over and over again studying your work, I have learned so much, I hope one day I will be on this level, amazing work, my favourite drawing video I have ever seen
This is my first video of yours that I've watched so far and I have to say this is the most horrible camera work ever lol. I hope it gets better in other vids. Great drawing skills though!
