Paul, the opposite of petty

Philipians 1:15 It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16The latter do so in love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel.c 17The former, however, preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can add to the distress of my chains. 18What then is the issue? Just this: that in every way, whether by false motives or true, Christ is preached." and so he rejoices that its preached in false motives and true motives? no he did not confess he was the one preaching out of false motives.he said those who who were preaching out of selfish ambitions,like today's prosperity preachers,were competiting with him as top popular preachers to be leaders in the churches. The false motives were not lies,but for self promotion. But he rejoiced that at least they preached the Gospels amid this race of competion, the gospels which are not false.
