You mentioned less sun it may develop edema - is that a common thing? I have a lot of plants with edema (graptopetalum superbum especially) coming out of winter, being outdoors and dealing less sun and too much rain. I notice splotchy bumps (not powdery mildew) on a lot of plants, where can I learn more about edema causes?
Help 😭😭😭 please help me save my super thin stem mendozae! When it arrived in the mail, it had roots, but the bottom of stem was yellow brittle dry AND hollow! The stem was hollow at the bottom ⅔! I had no choice but to cut off the stem. Its a bit stretched out, so already curved, bending. The stems are very thin 😔. What can I do to try to save this?? Im so glad I've found your chanel! 👍👍👍
Hello, Mam! You can let the cut part dry in a bright, well ventilated area before replanting, for about 3-4days. Try giving it some early morning sun so it won't stretch some more. After planting wait for 7-9 days before watering. 😊👍
@@KaleiPlants may I bother you with another question, Mr Succulent King? I live in Canada (hardy zone 7a? ) and I don't dare drench my succulents soil. I just squeeze some water with those watering squeeze bottles. I find that the next day or maybe 2 days after, the soil is already completely dry. No damp soil at all on bottom. In that case, should I water more often? Or just stay with watering once a week but drench the soil each time? 🤔
@@yorkiesweetpea23 hi Elaine, how is the succulent doing with your current method/frequency of watering? If it's good (leaf firm to touch, vibrant n healthy and no etiolation) I think you can continue to keep your current watering schedule. It also depends on how you want your succulent to look like, if you like them small n cute then more water might not be necessary.
@@lisatsen1556 hi! Its not doing well 😭. It grew a few aerial roots low on stem (above soil) but it hasn't grown real roots. Now, it is starting to be quite sad looking: wrinkle leafs that aren't plump anymore. May you give your 2 cents on another one also? It would be greatly appreciated! The other one I am having issue with growing roots, is a Graptopetalum amethystinum lavender pebbles. I had purchased it as a cutting. The bottom stem is nicely callused when I unboxed it, but it's been a month and it STILL hasn't rooted! Since it didn't have roots, I was afraid to put it out in sun. So I had kept it in the shade. Now, same as the Graptopetalum Mendozae, the "pebbles" are no longer fat and plumb. What do I do?!!
@@KaleiPlants last Aug 20 ko po sya nirepot.. 1 week sa bright shaded.. dun pa lang po naglagas na sya, di ko po muna diniligan.. then after i week sa may bintana na may ontinv morning sun, mga 30mins lang po.. nagtubo po sya ng maliliit na leaves then nag ddry po..
Mga 3-5months po. Actually I plan on making this a separate topic, sir. May method din po kasi siya para ma-achieve. Pero basically dapat po natutuyo talaga yung potting mix in between waterings para magkaroon po siya ng corking... 😊👍
Medyo sensitive po siya sa mainit. So maganda po filtered sun. Water lang po if dry na yung soil, wag patagalin na dry lalo pag uhaw na yung leaves. Potting mix po pwede siguro 60:40 ang ratio ng pumice to carbonized rice hull...
