I was told that grass dancers go out first because they are telling the bugs and small critters in the grass that people are coming to dance so they need to make way. I love that. I told my mom that and she started crying.

Cool! Loved this because I don't know any of this. I'm Ojibwa, but grew up French-Canadian. I don't know a thing about this kind of thing, and I've moved to a Rez, and now I'm learning all kinds of new things.
