Watching him live and how smooth and effortlessly he scored point after point, it was very obvious that only Benesh and maybe Evan Cory we in the same conversation with him about most dominant force in the event
@@easternvolleyballnetwork7128 His skills are off the charts, like next-next level. He just won a KOB tourney against other top AVP pros, his defense is as good as anybody i've ever seen. Then the ability to transition for a point...forget about it
@@Bulldog19547 for sure dude. Just the other guys I mentioned on a grass surface were equally as potent throughout the tournament scoring pretty much at will and often doing more from the service line
Bulldog19 There were A LOT of amazing players at that tournament. Which all played in the 2 on 2 the 2 days before this one. I don’t know how they played 3 days of grass in a row and at a very high level. Andy was probably the most dominate player at this tournament up until the point where he got injured in the final. And battled through it! The reason why I was in sweats and hoodie was because it was fricken cold, I’m not used to 50 degree weather. Haha if I thought I was too good for this tournament, 1. I wouldn’t have played, I happened to be in Charlotte at the time and decided to sign up late. Luckily Andy and Eric were already there and agreed to play with me 2. I wouldn’t have tried my hardest to win. It was an amazing tournament put on by the AVP and if I’m free next year I will definitely be back to defend the title 😎
@@Volleyball-Tutorials Sup Eric! We bout to get in a good old fashioned internet argument? Pause the video right before the ball hits the ground. Then tap the "," and "." keys to nudge frame by frame. The line clearly moves.
4:42 that was definitely on the line, if you slow it down you can see the court bounce up and barely make contact. tough calls. Then again, I suppose I could be wrong, and this angle isn't the best view for judging.
First time I see US volley ball on grass, not bad. If we compare to France this would look average. Is this like the highest level for this type of VB ? Cheers
I would say that this is some of the highest. Indoor guys don’t really play grass at all in the US, and if they did it would probably be much higher level. All of the guys playing grass are simply beach players on a faster surface :)
Taylor Crabb is an AVP Pro. Ranked 8th in the world with Gibb. France doesn't show up until 30's. Maybe there's a pro grass scene but in terms of AVP/Doubles, France isn't close lol
@@smokeypillow It means the ball didn't contact the setters hands together smoothly. If you hit the ball on the left side, then the right side, the ball will have a right side spin, and vice versa. This is essentially a double hit.
