I think they both cut really well. We run nothing but Grasshopper 329B with 29hp Vanguard and 61" decks. I bet if there was a 29 or 31 hp Vanguard on that thing it would cut really really well. We also run extreme high lift blades here in SW MO. I am wanting to get my hands on one to demo. We are just trying to get out dealer to get one. I really like this video and the content. This is the first one I have seen in a really long time that someone has compared a Grasshopper to another brand. Well done!
Grasshopper has been around a long time, and build great mowers👍I’ve got a 721D I use in the Fall only for my leaf removal, and after 10 yrs no complaints! Love my Z3X’s though! My 2nd set, and no breakdowns at all. Hard to switch to something else, when what you have has been flawless! Like you lots of thick/wet crabgrass, and wouldn’t know what to do without that 37 hp! Good to see ya again Richie, and hope your doing well brother👍you still trucking?
I thought of trying that stander. It looks real cool😎 👍We have a dealer that has a demo on their floor but, I found another Z2 for really good price and picked it up a couple weeks ago🤷Glad your posting again 💯🔥
I had simplicity citation z turn that had a b&s 23 hp vanguard engine and I have had kawasaki engines. Both of those engine brands ran great and went long hours in their life.
What is the current MSRP on each machine? I believe the Ferris has a Kawasaki engine option that is similar to the power plant on the Grasshopper? Great to see you're back, I find your publications to be honest and forthright. Looking for a stand-on myself.
12k msrp. I appreciate it brother. I do my best to be as honest as possible. I don’t like being scripted on product reviews so I don’t go into great details of something’s. I wanna know does it work or not that’s it.
Thank you sir, your reviews and findings are truthful. You get to the meat of the matter and provide substantial detail. I wish you all the best in your endeavors!!
Not my Riiiiiitchiiieeeee!!! Get it, get it?? Have so many Lawn videos to catch up on but, I put them ALL to the back of the line when I saw you drop one!!! Hoping all is well well as can be Bud. Mower looks pretty sweet. Nice review Bud. Dirty Jersey out!!!
How does the grasshopper do (electrical components) in the rain? How do the hydros disengage when you get stuck? What are the spindle types (tubular like scag or ball bearing),does the front of the grasshopper articulate? What is the grasshoppers oil capacity? Total weight for 52, what is the top height deck setting? Are blades changed from underneath? Thx! 😊
Love to help you with all that. I can get some details from grasshopper and see if I can help you on that. It being just a demo I didn’t get that much time to spend with it. What I can help with is 5.5 top height of cut, it doesn’t articulate in the front only the Ferris I believe offers that currently, blades are changed underneath, double bearing grease able spindles, 52 weighs 1080 lbs 62 weighs 1120 lbs
I was wondering where you've been. I was at the biscuit box last week and was thinking about you and your trucking/landscape businesses. I hope all is well. I heard that they were coming out with a stander. I love their front mount mowers. They are built super tough and last forever. I'm curious to see one of these in person Thanks for sharing and hope that you'll be putting out more stuff
@@PlemonsLawnCare sounds good. I'm heading back up in November to work on the property in Tennessee. I'll reach out. I really liked the big V. Still waiting on a milkshake. The machine's always broken when I go through
Too small engine 26 horse with 61". I run ferris 3zx 29 Kawasaki, love it 100 fuel injection. 3 years no problems. Grass hoppers are great build machines.
@@davidtravis1367 YEAH! I had high lift and weekly sharpening on them, and no luck getting a good cut. All the grass would just stick inside the deck…Nightmare owning that mower.
Same issue here. 430D, 928D, 725D all are awful with clumping when cutting damp grass. Not to mention there’s barely any striping with a Grasshopper deck.
Ferris has no rear rollers or rubber flap on back of deck and still looks better if you want a better ride out of your ferries drop rear tire pressure 3-5 lbs each
@@PlemonsLawnCare agree no kit needed with a ferris in my opinion they are on top of the mountain they are the best on slopes or flats and best fuel economy ours is a 61 with 37 vanguard absolute beast of a machine
