Great song!!! Enough time has passed to see that the Dead's later albums when Brent was alive, recaptured the spark of the early Dead. Jerry was on fire playing his guitar in the video.

Agreed. The music the band played for the five years they were together after Brent died lack energy and focus. That said I am glad that the band were stubborn enough to try to continue....

This song always gives me the chills. Brent died 9 months after Built to Last came out. The lyrics are so very haunting as they, effectively, read like a suicide note. For what it's worth, I LOVE this song. Brent's finest IMO and one of my all-time Dead tunes ... and, trust me, I don't say that lightly. RIP Brent ... you will never be forgotten by us Dead Heads!

I am just now discovering this vid myself wow how odd. I love Brents voice he was missed by myself and others in the 90's just like Jer is still missed but at least I was there.....
Nice Video, never knew it existed, they all look and sound good, esp Jerry, that said BTL got a bad rap, but I like it and Brent did a great job. His songs soared on it and it's a shame it was shunned so badly. I like it through and through

I’d say Brent’s tunes were definitely the most accessible for the “MTV Kids” who showed up around Touch Of Grey. Like if you think about Grateful Dead songs with a “commercial” or “marketable” sound. Chances are you’re gonna say something like this or Far From Me. Both great songs, just a new flavor of Dead. I never have had a problem with so called “Disco Dead” I think you just have to enjoy a little bit of it all.

The lyrics are great. I get lost in the words and cannot help but wonder where the genius comes from. It is inspired. I never saw Brent live (went to two shows in the 90's) but from what I could gather he added a dimension that could not be replaced. It is like attitude chewing bubble gum.
