Yes it is I was born 10 days before Jerry died and this music and the people that come along with it mean the absolute world to me!!!!! Once in a while people get shown the light 😊❤ i thoroughly enjoy the videos where you can see the band playing often. Do you know my friend Caveman (Dave Weller) from NY?
Please message me if you can id love to talk to other like minded folks who actually saw the magic that happened when the band was on like they were in this show. Shouldn't put this out there but I know im among good people my email is xxkmax730@gmail.com just looking for a good conversation
I was at this show. The last show at JFK -they were handing out "Enter At Your Own Risk" leaflets b/c the stadium had already been condemned. Beastly hot day too!
Best version of "Memphis..." I've heard. Jerry at 8:00 says it all. Bob is in his best vocal stage since the early 70's. They all know that this version is nailed.
yes, it can-for sure get better than this. what could you be thinking? .....o.k how about my story! on stage for two concerts in 1969 two nights in a row, with the Dead, i danced near Bobby. and then i stayed in his room the two nights they were on. the Grateful Dead in 1969 were a whole other story, believe me and to be a lover to Bobby put icing on my 19 year old cake. "Peace" zac. & everyone
Fitting irony with the lyric, "can this really be the end?" This show was "the end" of JFK Stadium, as the building was condemned a few days later and eventually torn down. Another great venue bites the dust.
Nobody. Nobody. Nobody on earth will ever play like Jerry again. I will always thank my parents for moving us to Marin from Dallas when I was 7. Dead were our local band. I miss Jerry.
had to put this on cause i just woke from one of those dreams again where im at a show again! i love those dreams the closest i can come to being there again! who else has those dreams?
Learning more about the Minor Pentatonic Scale and it sounded so familiar. Then it hit me. The main riff in this song is simply the scale from top to bottom. I can jam along with my ukulele!
“Whoa! Mama! Can this really be the end?! To be stuck, inside, in springtime, with the COVID blues again?” Still jamming to this in 2020 Northeast Kansas USA! One love!
Love the Dylan cover by GD! The guitar of Jerry Garcia is so subtle, sweet and delicate, it magnifies every note of Dylan music! And the singing of Bob Weir is great too!
Did they know we would never again gather together in this fine establishment? I remember portions of the show but what a show it was. I am glad to relive this whenever I wish. I was almost in the last row of the venue but was still with family. God Bless the Grateful Dead!
I have been watching this video for a good 2 years now. And was to lazy to create a youtube account . But now that I have. I just want to say Indiffernce thank you for posting such fire. Please keep it up. t=
Bobby is a ferocious crooner. Mickey's got the full on Vulcan thing going by this time. Loved the Peter Max backdrops they used this year. The shows at the Berkeley Greek Theater were stunning. JFK Stadium must be 5 times the size. Glad I never had to see them in places that big.
whether it was the poor girl getting knocked over in the overstuffed shitter, the over 100 degree temp, the extremely effective lsd i ingested, the meeting of a great friend that led to future backstage passes and access to Dan Healys soundboard collection, or maybe the great freaking show, or maybe the 50 million other things that happened, i remember this day surprisingly clearly and very fondly.
Regarding Bobby's shorts, this was at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia. You are thinking of the old RFK Stadium in Washington. And yes it was very hot the day of this show.
Great solo, as always. (First one) I'm a little sad to see Brent in the background as Jer finishes up. Sad today, but glad I was there when it was happening. 8/9/2017
sure don't know who the unsung heroes are who engineered all this and so many others, but they sure get some applause too, it's really like being there, almost
Suk, fuck and Glip Glop, what a fantastic version of The Memphis Blues again. I can hear it over and over and over again. And the shorts he is wearing is warming my little gay hearth.
