John Kadlecik Band has one on RU-vid that is also a personal favorite rendition of mine. Worthy of a look if you haven't already seen it. This one is pretty superb though.
Today's music doesn't even come close to 50s 60s and 70s rhythm and blues or country folk. The lyrics tell such amazing stories and it's actual music. Not just a computer generated sound.
The Grateful Dead laid the foundation for generations of musicians to interpret and progress. A beautiful and well arranged rendition, Jerry would love this!
Ahem, theres a cat, Billy Strings. He's setting the torch on fire and sending it to another dimension. These guys are cool though and this is a great version of Rubin and Cherise. Kudos to these fellas. Keep on groovin.
Not even close...box of rain is the best interpretation of early dead..splintered sunlight, steal your face are all fantastic Philadelphia area bands...this band is great as well..
@@boxesofstuff but it is. I mean yes they're trying to replicate a sound but also make it their own. The upside down Jimmy Hendrix style guitar tells me everything I need to know
Love their cool version, played so nice. About this song, seems to me that JGB rarely caught hold of Garcia's rhythms and cadences,- but they did have their moments! To me, the Dead never got it.
Reuben walked the streets of New Orleans till dawn, with Ruby and Cherise both in his arms, and Their hair fell gently down. That’s how I would have ended the story with all due respect to Mr Garcia and Mr Hunter. ✌🏻
Sounds really really great, including the vocals. Please take care with the lyrics including the details. Hunter/Garcia wrote them carefully and they are best when sung as written. Please don't be lazy with lyrics like JRAD is!
I like these guys but I wish they'd play with more passion and originality. They always look bored. JRAD and Jazz is Dead will always be my favorite dead cover groups for breathing new life into these songs.
I’m a bassist, people always tell me I look bored on stage, even though I’m actually having the time of my life. I’d rather be authentic than fake it by dancing around like Flea or something. Just cause they look “bored” doesn’t mean they’re not passionate.
