I'd like to acknowledge the accident this week on set of the movie "Rust" My condolences to the crew and family for the loss of the DP, Halyna Hutchins. May the director's wound heal quickly.
I see so many of these narrow-minded people blaming Alec for this incident, saying that movie stars and the rich get away with too much, I just wish all those narrow-minded people would just vanish from the face of the Earth. God bless and condolences to all involved in that tragic accident
@@marshmangunnar9150 Yes. Alec isn't to blame. He was handed a prop by a crew member that was "Good to go" I feel bad that not only the family/friends/coworkers suffer, but Alec has to live with it.
@@ArizonaGhostriders I appreciate the fast response, and yes a true tragedy. Ppl hear that Alec was crying afterwards, which I truly believe, "they" want video of him doing so which honestly hurts me deeply.... HOLD TIGHT GOOD FOLKS, times are coming to a monumental change. Blessings.
Fun Fact: The skeleton in the film "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" is real! When she was alive, she was an actress in Madrid who loved to perform. Her final wish was that her skeleton appear in one more film after her passing. Well, her daughter honored that wish.
Another great episode, and just in time for Halloween! I went back and revisited the episode "Elmer McCurdy, Train Robber"for kicks. I can see how grave robbing and the surrounding factors of disease, the beliefs of religion, and the moralities of corpse "desecration" for medical study could easily help build on the horror genre of today. Thanks again for an informative episode Santee!
As an archaeologist, like your episodes. I have a story. I worked on a couple cemetery relocation jobs. One of the most interesting burials I excavated was a Civil War Veteran. The body had a glass eye, healed head trauma from a mini ball and a wooden leg. He survived the Civil War being shot in the leg and losing an eye. He was buried in his Union infantry uniform in the 1890's.
I'm working on a story about a trio of old west graverobbers, and just as I was getting frustrated with the lack of resources, this was posted! Thank you. Great content as always.
Santee good top of the morning!! You have a gift, and I'm not even talking about your writing and scripting but even more amazing, than it is addressing a subject like this. Truly side splitting funny🤭. Have a great weekend!!
Great one, Santee. No jokes about digging. I just imagined how frustrating it would be to find a grave to rob of someone who went to a crematory after death.
What a...grave situation most families would find themselves in on the account of grave robbers. Another great episode, Santee. Looking forward to next week's episode.
@@ArizonaGhostriders I think that is exactly what you thought. I hate to think that he did commit suicide. but it was the prettiest place in the area to do it. 😔
Hi Santee, just wanted to drop a comment and say that I enjoy the new intro. I actually just made the move to the south west, New Mexico, from Michigan in the hopes of creating a life with my wife. We pulled a camper the whole way which made me feel a bit like a modern settler with a camper in place of a covered wagon. I also recently started trying to learn to play the guitar which made me want to ask if you'd ever do a video on guitars in the old west? If you've gotten this far, thanks for taking the time to read all this and thanks for always putting out great content.
I visited Johnny Ringo's gravesite a couple of years ago. The caretakers did a good job of keeping the area clean and simple. Just a small sign with a little history written on it. Plenty of room for the imagination to wander.
At one point the Ressurectionists realised that a wooden spade or wooden shovel made little noise when digging. Good luck finding such a tool now and some places require a concrete vault in the ground to place the coffin in due to the embalming fluids contaminating ground water.
@@ArizonaGhostriders Sadly some real grave robbers pulled that trick, stealing Charlie Chaplin's body, and also the body of an old lady in Staffordshire, GB - animal rights activists who objected to her family owning a mink farm.
Ghoul , Pod person , bodysnatchers ! Great market for fresh body´s back then ! Thanks for sharing your knowledge . Have a great weekend Santee and dirty Dan .
Thank you so much for your channel!! I just moved to a historic old west home on the registry in Yuma. It actually has a guard tower from the Yuma Territorial Prison attached to the main house. Always enjoyed the desert and that time period, but have now become obsessed. Love your videos so much!! Thank you for bringing me closer to the roots of my new home and what life was like for the folks who built it.
dang it Cheese, you KNEW if you showed the travelling ghosts at the start of this vid, that we would want to go to Disneyland ha ha ha...thanks for another great vid guys !!
Great video! I always love watching these. If I may, you should do a video Billy the Kid since Young Guns three was announced. Either way, keep up the great work!
Good morning. This is Ted from Texas. I really enjoy your episodes and look forward to seeing that. Your little bits of History is great knowledge. What will be your next adventure
The Dalton's headstone in Coffeyville has been stolen three or four times. Of all the times it was taken, it was found only once. The original stone that Emmett bought has long been lost to history.
The Body Snatcher with Boris Karloff is a Val Lewton horror movie of the 40s and one of Karloff’s best roles. In lewton horror movies, the atmosphere, dialogue and characters are what make it frightening. The supernatural is often there, but it’s a lot more subtle and left for the viewer to decide
Ask Seth about it and also I can’t imagine how people eat after seeing the bodies and robbing them and do they dig them down back like a respectful man do and your intro is sick I love it santee?
There was an abandoned cemetery around the corner from my house when I was a kid. The headstones were from the late 1700s and the latest was from about 1806. It was all overgrown with trees and brush. Someone tried digging up a grave but gave up after digging less than one foot down. It wasn't me!
Another excellent video, Santee! Not an expect here, the way I hear it, Jesse and the brothers post Civil War were picked on by the federal/union army, and his community was going without, to the point of starving. This sort of makes sense, as they had community respect, and the community helped them. As I said, it's the way I heard about him, I suppose one of the big mysteries about Jesse is how much loot he takes, and it's any of it hidden somewhere. Anyways, another excellent video!
Thanks again Santee & Co. Several years ago when I renewed my South Carolina driver's license I registered as an organ donor . I felt that upon my demise some of my organs could be used to give others the gift of life . I have doubts about my liver and lungs , as I drink a lot of beer and smoke cigarillos . Ha Ha ! I'm considering donating the rest of my body to the University of Tennessee's ' Body Farm ' . They place human corpses under field conditions for up to several weeks for forensics purposes . Afterwards the remains are handled as per the wishes of the donor and the survivors . I want my remains cremated and my ashes given a US Navy burial at sea . See Y'all down the trail !
Hi santee my friend hope you are doing well great upload as always the editing you do is amazing I certainly wouldn’t leave any valuables in my grave lol have a fantastic week buddy 👍
I was actually thinking about having a grave robbing scene in my old West novel that is set in the far distant post post apocalyptic future on a dying distant planet. Today I’ll write a outline for that scene.
Good episode! I did see that John Ringo's name was mention in this episode, and I remember reading about his family's journey on the Oregon trail in the 1860's. It was included in a series called Covered Wagon Women Vol. 8 1862-1865, edited by Kenneth L. Holmes.
Spook ya later but the AGR logo on the pine box checking out the jewels but the AGR logo on the arch watching them robbers!! Nicely done as usual gang thumbs up
I like the idea I saw from someone to bury a fake skeleton under their new deck. They said it will sure wake up whoever has to replace on down the road!
Creepy but interesting Santee! I wonder how many grave robbers made the gruesome discovery that some of their targeted victims had actually been buried alive?
Hey Santee. Just watched Sgt Rutledge again today, which got me thinking that it would be nice to do a video about the Buffalo Soldiers, and in particular Corporal John Ross, I troop of the 9th Cavalry, or the Buffalo Soldiers, in general. Francis
Loved the outro with you and Dirty Dan 😂😂😂 so that’s why they call him Dirty, hm? Also, those grave robbers singing together is pretty macabre, Santee. Lots of interesting stuff in this one, my friend (coffin torpedoes and cemetery guns?!) Are people buried in vaults in the southwest like they seem to be in most places? I ask because I know the soil is different there as compared to many places in the United States. Thank you Santee!
You're welcome, Bj!! Thanks for watching. There are vaults out here. In AZ we have to deal with Caliche, which is ridiculously hard ground. So you may find less of that here.
@@ArizonaGhostriders Oh wow. I’m gonna have to ask my gf if she’s heard of that. Earth sciences are her thing. Over here, there is a LOT of clay in our soil. Makes things problematic in bad drought or double the annual average rainfall.
HAHAHAHA!!! What a nice way to enjoy your break at work!! I wonder if any grave robbers ever resold the stiffs belongings unknowingly back to their family members!?😆😆
I always heard that body snatchers of old would use wooden shovels so as not to make noise while digging up the corpses...unlike metal shovels that would "ding" if you hit something solid
I read a history of this not too long ago. As creepy as the concept is, a few "Entrepreneurs" were actually known to jump the gun, as it were, and start making corpses on demand. Ugly business, that.
I went grave robbing. I came into the graveyard pistols drawn yelling “This is a hold up! Everyone put your hands up!” Would you believe that everyone there just ignored me? So disrespectful!
