The Word was awesome for live performances, Hijack, Public Enemy, Prodigy rocked on there. Gravediggaz absolutely smashed it. These were the days, brings back some awesome memories this. Brilliant
On the one hand, seeing footage of Bang Your Head performed live on The Word blew my mind. On the other hand, TC is dangerously close to Alan Partridge with his "Slap my face!". Great stuff!
The Word was one by of the best shows on TV, totally unpredictable at times but some of the greatest artists rocked it, Gravediggaz here, Public Enemy shut em down, Hijack were brilliant, The Prodigy kicked ass, some amazing memories and so lucky to have witnessed some brilliant artistry on the show. And Amanda de Cadenet was a sort
Poetic(Grym...RIP ) kills it here, banging performance from a Legend of a group. At least "The Word" let the artists do the song how they wanted unlike TOTP. who upset Nirvana to the point we now have that hilarious performance where Kurt sings with a mad voice & Dave pretends to hit the symbol when it should be a drum( not 100% on this but think it was because they wouldn't let them play totally live & made them use a backing track ),that too lives on RU-vid.
i've never forgot this performance!! ..it's specifically what i was looking for in the search lol! thanks for adding it Terry! i taped it on my vhs and watched it a thousand times lol! 20 years later i see RZA in the wu tang 20th anniversary concert!
The Word was great. I think they generated (possibly with lots of cocaine) a party atmosphere which seemed to get much better performances out of the artists compared to Top of The Pops and stuff like that.
Gravediggaz were on another show too called Dance Energy on BBC 2 hosted by Normski but I can't find the clip anywhere......answers on a postcard if you can help please 😉👍 they don't make em like this anymore.....TV shows or hiphop bands!
@@dark108x No mate, definitely Gravediggaz because they did Bang Your Head and a guy who i went to school with was dancing in the audience...he's called Johnny F (John Fairbanks) better known as DJ Semtex! 👍
