I have the same bike. What width are those tires? Are there scratches on the inside of the fork, chain stays, or seat stays from the knobs or dirt/mud? Did the tires feel slower on climbs and flats? Was it worth the trade off for better flat protection and descending?
Lovely bike. But I will say that no matter how earo the cadex wheels are on their own, with those beefy tyres, you nearly get any benefit from it since they're way narrower than the tyre.
I race gravel in the US, and wider is faster as far as tires go. In terms of aero rims - it certainly isn't s disadvantage at those speeds. I don't think you realize how fast top tier gravel racers go these days.
@@petersouthernboy6327 I'm a gravel racer myself. But if the rim is not almost as wide as the tyes, it makes no sense to put deeper rims on there. You could save some weight by going shallower, or go full aero with wider deep rims. I prefer big tyres myself aswell.
Giant need to bring out a dedicated flatbar gravel bike with 1x40t drivetrain that is sram AXS 12 speed with carbon fibre wheels and at least 40c tubeless tyres, make the whole bike under 8.5kilograms.
I’ve seen a lot of bikes over the years but nothing is easier than this on the eye without being over the top or looking like big as billboard. The color and this model still the best in 2024. Bravo giant
@RideGiantBicycles how did Cole fit a 46T Front ring on there? I have the same bike and everything states nothing larger than 42 event when I contacted Giant Support. I have a 42T. But, no way a 46T would fit with my SRAM. And, I have a 46T I want to put on it. Thanks
Running a similar set up to this as I’ve literally just bought the Cadex AR wheel set and tyres for my Revolt Advanced Pro. I’m no racer but wanted a fast all rounder for road and gravel and this ticks a lot of those boxes.
