This event was held on September 24-25, 2022 and organized by Josh Rizzo from thenxrth.com. "The Gravel Pizza Overnighter is a community bikepacking event tucked right where you'd expect it halfway between the woods, farm country, and the middle of nowhere, Wisconsin."
Highlights on Day 1 included stops for ice cream, cheese curds, or a refreshing drink from Vojtik's Stockyard Food (mile 19) and another stop for a drink at Aka Lakeside (mile 34) in Rock Dam.
We camped in the field at Wedges Creek Hideway, where we enjoyed wood-fired pizza, campfires, live music and even a pumpkin cannon in the evening. After a raining night, we warmed up with a hot breakfast of eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, toast and homemade apple jelly before setting out on the 28-mile journey back to our cars.
