Today I head out exploring some new gravel trails, bridleways and unmetalled road in Devon and and swing by the River Dart for a refreshing swim at Horseshoe Falls near New Bridge on the River Dart.

Until 3 weeks ago, I hadn't been riding my bikes for almost a year due a major depression. But since I've started riding again, my mood is so much better. I see biking as a form of meditation 🙂

Meditation actually works! It's the measurable brain waves. You can buy a thing for that. Oh, and kill your TV. Be merciless. Kill it through it's dark heart with a sapling of living wood. Kill it.

Sitting on the couch at home alone at 7 AM, watching RU-vid. It’s going to be a long day. 😩 I see this video, and look across the room at my bike leaning against the wall. 🤔 Now it’s 10 AM and my bike and I are at the park! It’s beautiful out here. I hear the birds and the insects, and I’m brewing up a cup of tea on my camp stove. 😁 Thank you! ❤️

Often the case that old bikes are often neglected and I know some people who criticise people on old bikes as being tight for not going out and getting the latest carbon 29er. I myself believe as long as it´s got a seat and two wheels, I´ll ride it. It´s not always essential to get the latest. Biking is the best form of exercise.

Don't be afraid to be adventurous, I can see a new hybrid trend emerging and that is wild cycling , wild swimming, and I do mean wild! will do you the world of good, have fun.

Great video and great advice. I’ve always believed that cycling gets me away from my home life and my work life and while that may sound a bit selfish, it’s the best thing to maintain some sort of sanity. When I’m on the bike, it’s just me, my bike and the road. All my problems and worries melt away for the duration of the ride.

Well done Juliet. So much is made around physical fitness on a bike with strava segments, power meters, speed and watts. Yet cycling is THE remedy to mental fitness. The fact that you had to explain your ride at the beginning emphasises the point. The benefits of just taking a potter round the lanes is immeasurable and as the video progresses your enthusiasm grows and grows. Super video.

What a great life you have. What a beautiful part of the world you live in. Thank you for your humble message. As others have said, cycling moves the heavy moods. Why? How so? In my opinion, when riding a bike we automatically become present to the moment. All of a sudden, our attention moves to here and now, and everything else falls away. Cycling is a gentle way to re-align our attention in to the present moment and all else fades. Pure magic, every time. The chemicals help too! But still magic
