Great video. Never seen a Mustang get up a hill so fast. Makes our little Surrey countryside Hill Climb video in England seem slow.

Mustang killed it :) and I also enjoyed the green jeep who climbed it at low revs! low end torque baby! just like the Buick 350 in our Wagoneer.

Lol, my favorite was the guy that slow boated his way up the hill. Made it look so easy.

I freakin love that 4x4 Mustang! I've always wanted to do that to my car.

They rework the starting line throughout the day. The pea gravel is really pretty soft most of the day. They also move the starting line back on flatter land as the rides get smaller. By the end they are taking a big run at it.

All sorts of strange motorsports are run officially in America. As long as it involves a v8 it can be turned into a proper competition :D I like it.

@TheFROSTER420 no the tires are the same diameter. But the rears ones are just wider. That wont make a difference. Its just if the front tires are smaller (in diameter) than the back

@MrSaunter because these cars are Rear wheel drive.If you watched carefully,Jeeps are not like that.Even in 4x4 cars,rear tires have more grip.For example in a 4x4,rear tires have %60 grip,front tires have %40 so thats why rear tires have more grip.

things people dont realize is that with 4x4 you have to have the same diameter tires front and rear (or gearing changes in the smaller tire side to make it spin faster) or one axle is just pushing the other...

the trick is getting momentum early on and holding onto it for as long as you can, if you can do that you wont need as much traction. If you slow down you'll need traction to keep going, and the dirt is so soft you just sink in.OR like the green jeep, it's rear tires were so wide it didn't sink in and could get the traction to do the climb slow.

"lets do a big burnout and then shut off the throttle as soon as I start moving, then do another burnout and stall" good plan!

@MrSaunter if the tires up front have too much grip, they start to dig into the sand. those puffy/chunky tires kinda bounce away, and the skinny's dont really push into the sand much so there's no resistance.

Mustangs can do anything and everything as far as motorsport/racing goes.

Cause going uphill shifts weight to the rear, and so does accelerating. Paddles on the front aren't needed because there aren't traction issues there, see all the cars on the rear wheels going up.

You all's need to see the Icelandic off road GPS..amazing ..design sit rather low but WOW CAN THEY CLIMB..

B20 vehicle... THAT's how you drive in sand and mud... Most of the off-road drivers in the USA (at least all of those I've seen, which are a lot), like to step on it, giving massive wheel spin, and therefore digging their own "grave". It's best to avoid wheel spin and even kill the engine for low revving, than to give full gas and dig staying in the same place as you were before

@MrSaunter I wouldn't call Super Swamper Boggers "minimum grip", because that is what a lot of guys are running. But, from my experience in sand, it makes it so you can see where you are going. Paddles just throw so much material that you get coated and can't see what you're doing. You notice that 2wd jeeps were able to make it up the hill? And, it keeps you floating, because you front end is heavy with that V8 engine up there.

@MrSaunter front tires dont matter much. More wheel speed and bigger lugs in the rear gets you further.

the guy at 2.10 is jim stovall from illinois in the dirt farmer 390 amc high torque low rpm motor and alot of experience 37 years and only 3 failed atempts including 2011 unfortunatlly

@BurtGumm3r Loved that run. Especially with the many acrs that made loads of noise yet barely made it 1/4 the way up.

in the UAE we have the same type of this drag racing but we go on loose sand and we usually use Nissan patrols as the base body and chassis just search for AWAFI FESTIVAL and you are good to go

The FORD BRONCO will always be the offroad king. Mine could do this stock...just had to turn overdrive off.

@MrSaunter Dunno but looking at the couple that clearly did it best they sorta "skimmed" up the hill with most of the power in the rear wheels without alot of wheel spin.

Just like a sunday tour, nice and easy while the other just bogged down....

Can anyone tell me why some of the trucks seem to be able to easily clime at lower revs and those the run at high revs seem to get suck halfway up ? Some of those trucks just coast up the hill, are they getting on top of the gravel ? I run 1320 and can`t figure this stuff out ....

I hate that a Mustang was made into an off road racer. But it's awesome!!! Haha. I guess one Mustang wasted won't hurt nothing. There's many more out there.
