Will you ever be safe on a Boeing jet? The tyre of a Boeing 777 plane operated by United Airlines fell off mid-air, shortly after take-off from San Francisco. The plane was supposed to fly to Japan, but it had to turn around and make an emergency landing. This comes weeks after the plug door of a Boeing plane blew out mid-air.

@@JebelAli-vw8wm has nothing to do with DEI. Everything in aircraft maintenance has instructions i.e the manual. The airlines are hiring CHILDREN not old enough to buy beer, that have zero initiative, zero desire to perfect their craft, and zero accountability. Been doing this over 30 years, and it is a joke. This industry lost THOUSANDS of years of knowledge during COVID when airlines were scrambling to save money and offered retirement packages to the old school guys. Now that the airlines are back so to speak (making money etc) they are hiring again. The airline i work for has hired THOUSANDS of mechanics that have zero experience in the last 2 years, and it is eye opening. Used to be years ago, you had to be a badass to get a job with a major airline and work in line maintenance....the line was the 'Green Berets" of mechanics...the elite. Not any more. It's sad.

Door plugs are sealed at the factory. There is typically NO need for maintenance beyond simple checks. This is wholly the fault of Boeing.

Just like the plug door incident. At first many pointed out that it was made in Asia, i think in Malaysia. Then it appeared that the door was removed for maintenance in the US but the Boeing crew did not install the 4 holding bolts back! Unbelievable but true. So the door just slided off. It has nothing to do with the manufacturer.

It’s a question of negligence by the maintenance crew instead of blaming Boeing Company. But I agree with you that the incident would have caused some fatalities on the ground. Thank goodness it did not. Same thing does happen to vehicles.

Boeing is a reputed company. Technical glitches happen with Airbus and Chinese aircraft companies also. Please don't over exaggerate and create fear among travellers. Some people have serious insecurity issues with other fairly good performing companies. If not Boeing then please give us a 2nd option for air travel.

If you want to make sense of the news, start by learning how to communicate effectively in English.

It’s the crew that does maintenance that’s responsible, not Boeing itself because the planes are built by Boeing but maintain by other company’s. when it comes to the blow out door a month ago, that was Boeing because it was a building defect.
