Stop your bragging right! India is the world polluted country on this earth despite its economy is only 1/5 of China’s size. If India wants to catch up with China in economic scale and employment, it will have to compete with China for pollution and toxic exposure. India will always be poor if it brainwashed with environmental restraint to hinder its economic potentials. China supplies the world with 40% of world consumer goods and expects to share huge percentage of world pollutions. The problem lies with consumerism and greedy multinational corporations over profits than sustainable lifestyle .

Good deal is this post will be here in twenty five years, just like that island....you can come back and visit it. I heard this same thing in 1977, all the ice would melt. greenhouse gases, back then we also had the acid rain, and a hole in the ozone! So look on the brite side of things.... we no longer have the giant hole going to kill us and I havent heard a damn thing about acid rain since 1987....

You mentioned Australia but did you know that a 1 metre rise in sea level will displace millions there too? Aussies mostly live by the sea and even now the water crosses main roads at king tides, another meter will see the roads gone permanently and towns abandoned for lack of access.

There is a procedures to convert sea water into molten ice by mixing a chemical combination. The more the density of salt,it's easy to convert. They can use it in their coast region,it'll act as a barrier between the island and sea.

Sixteen years ago we heard exactly the same thing. Islands will disappear within ten years. The pier on the harbor where I live has shown NO sign of rising sea levels. The tidal marks have remained the same since sixteen years ago. I fish regularly off that pier. Perhaps it is a Northern Hemisphere phenomena? No other reasonable theory can explain it.

These are just growing pains. The world tilt and climate changed. And our "rape" of this world worsen that situation. Now Mother Nature is trying to correct itself given the new parameters. Seasons changed and so must we. We have to move, adjust and adapt to the changes in climate and the living environment if we want to survive. Average rise in sea level over the last decade has been 3.6 mm or 0.14 inch per year. Average rise in global temperature has been 0.18 Degrees Celsius over the last forty years; but has been Negligible since 2000. So, the dangers, if they indeed can be prevented, at least are not in the global averages of these changes.

The ocean has been steadily rising on average, 3mm per year for the past 20 years. At this rate, it would take 300 years for the sea to rise 3 feet. Now it does rise more in some places and some islands are sinking due to non global warming reasons.

maldives will be completely underwater in few decades. all the muslims in maldives may have to take refuge in other countries for survival. but countries like sri lanka and archipelago indonesia will be mostly safe. lakshadweep will also be underwater.

U didn’t mention China this country emits more greenhouse gas than the entire developed world combined. Cuna emitted 27% of the world’s greenhouse gasses in 2019. The USA was 2nd, & India was 3rd.
