So a lot of Indians fought side by side with the British as allied forces against the axis powers of Japan, Italy and Germany during WWII. Subhash Chandra Bose, the Indian freedom fighter, was one of the exceptions who tried to seek Germany and Japan's help to fight the British in India's struggle for freedom. So, it was move that was radical to what Mahatma Gandhi was proposing. Anyway, apart from this, Indo-Japanese ties were more or less always on good terms on every level.

There are mention of Antyodaya our own house culturally emphasis of Dana Dharma. So it's obvious that such a culture will continue to be doing such thing which when looked from western concepts could be seen as Socialism or the duty to make money for the well being of the society in Indian concept when viewed from the western viewpoint may look Capitalism.
