Brit here, and I can say this is not true, the UK is not set to be the worst place to live at all - it's been the worst place to live for a longtime, hence why I left years ago.

Nowadays the 5 eyes nation especially UK, Canada and US are the most dangerous places to live for indian immigrants who leave india with similar kinds of issues. Australia, New Zealand are just ok to be safe.

This is true for many people, but people underestimate how much money is in the uk. For many, life is still good, but for the poor majority it is really really hard. So an unequal picture depending on your circumstances

As someone who was born and lives in the UK: crime is rife, housing is incredibly expensive everywhere, energy (electricity and gas) is expensive, the police service is non-existent, the roads are crowded and full of holes, petrol and diesel is expensive. There are over 7 million people on NHS waiting lists. The infrastructure is crumbling. About 30 years ago the cost if buying a property was around four times the average wage, now it is more like ten. And, It is getting worse. If I was young enough to emigrate, I would today. I would also advise anyone against coming here.

So, Greece has many similar crises too, but I only waited for about a month to get my ultrasound done. The UK is probably going to experience a living crisis worse than what Greece experienced in 2009.

I have been living in the UK for over 2.5 years and I am now working for the NHS. Forget the pay and the strikes! From the patients pov, I feel the NHS is an absolute joke!!! The standards are going down the drain soon and in a couple of yrs the NHS will disappear.

I live in the north of the UK and not of Indian background although I have many friends and colleagues who are Indian/Desis. I can tell you that this report may be a bit exaggerated but it is definitely true. In terms of burglary, many indian homes in the UK are targeted by criminals and burglary gangs because Indians are known to keep a lot of gold and jewelleries, which are easy to sell and turn into cash. I know a few indian friends and colleagues who have had their homes broken into! Even a police has told me that they experience a lot of burglary from desi homes. Home security system is a must have for indians.

I lived in the UK in 2016- I realized its not worth living there- I do love the countryside, towns, the highlands in Scotland, the islands, the Lake District, the wilderness, Cornwall, etc. , but the quality of life : cost ratio is not worth it and the quality of services is quite poor specially when it comes to housing.

NHS waiting times are the worst. I was put on a 1 year waiting list to see a neurologist back in 2021. Meanwhile my issue was becoming severe and had to leave the country to seek help elsewhere after eight months of waiting- I'm still suffering the consequences to date.

In mumbai we women leave our purses, mobile phones on tables and walk around the clubs socializing and dancing and i have never lost anything !! In 10 years not a single incident of theft or robbery, god bless everyone ❤

I'm in the Midlands and I can tell you this, stay away! Your work will be minimum wage, your rent alone will take up half your salary and you better hope you don't get sick unless you have private health insurance. It used to be nice place but not anymore.

Shoplifting and parcel theft is normal here in UK I have to tell the delivery to take the parcel back if I am not there to receive.

1. Ridiculous waiting time of two weeks to get an appointment in NHS. 2. Cost of living is going up high 3. Lack of IT projects in the company and less companies are sponsoring. Only high talented folks can bypass. I came with lot of hope thinking about free education and healthcare, but with all the immigrant people in the NHS, if still this is the situation. I stand here perplexed with the new immigration policy changes and raise in visa costs. It could be worse. Its time to change the perception of Quality of Life.

Immigration into the UK is bringing in lots of unskilled labor which are eventually becoming a burden on the economy. This is true for most of Western Europe, Canada and the US. Eventually these folks become dependent on the state for everything to sustain themselves economically.

Indian students complete their studies acquire jobs and settles down in UK...Indian students doesn't work in shops after completing their studies...So shoplifting is an issue to be addressed by UK police...

Shops will have to enable virtual buying in the front portion. A barrier stops customers from entering the storage area. Employees pass chosen items, thru small openings in the barrier, to other employees in the front to hand over to the buyer after paying

I have just left the states after 16 years, & moved back to England. I would say that the states is worse than England, especially California.

India should also focus on it's own state of affairs and public services . Which are in dire state too

Hi, I'm working as a security at asda in Nottingham and was in london for last 14 years. I was a student untill 2012.The truth is its 90% exaggeration. UK prices are up that's true but life is still good and safe. Anyone come for study or settle here please don't worry if you manage things properly you can get what you dream of. Wion has a habit of targeting western economies I stay in UK and from India and trust me compared to India overall quality of living is much much better than India.. just because there is shoplifting or inflation doesn't make it worst place instead I will still rate it as one of the top places to stay...

As a Canadian, I found my quality of life doubled, easily, each time I got off the plane in England. No, it's not perfect, yes, it can be rough here and there, but mostly, it's utterly fantastic, 1,000 times more amazing than I ever could have imagined as a boy here in Ontario. I'm in my 40s so no, this is not some idealisation.

The UK does have a shoplifting crisis indeed. It is the only country in the world which suffers from this particular human design flaw. The real question Madame Wion News Presenter should be asking is why.....why does shoplifting occur only in the UK and nowhere else. Now that would be real investigate journalism of the highest quality. I think WION journalists are very good and savvy in their journalistic duties so given some incentive, I'm sure they would get to the root cause of this shoplifting curse plaguing the UK.

Studied in UK/liverpool in the early 2000s I can confirm I have seen the most shoplifters there, gangs of 9 year olds running into a corner store and raiding the icecream fridge, these kids are now in their late 20s and have reproduced 😅. I have even lived in Africa and never saw fridges with padlocks inside a store like in UK, you had to call the shop owner to come open for you to get something.

The shops and stores are designed to facilitate thefts and they won't change that. You can have all the security system of the world, but a lot theft could be avoid by just bringing the counters to the front of the shops like in the supermarket and not leaving goods at the doors. I have lived in the UK last 50 years. Yes, things are tough at the moment but it’s no different in other parts of Europe either. Yet, most of my middle class relatives in India dream for their children to eventually settle in UK or USA. This tells us something about their future long term prospects in India , doesn’t it ........!!!

Half a million Indian students in June 2023 say no and have the study visa to prove it. Indians also make up the second largest group crossing the English Channel from France in 2023. 20% of illegal migrants into the UK are Indian flying to Serbia to enter Europe and then onto France and the short sea crossing to England. .

Don’t believe it all, life here is more comfortable than in India. We order every thing on-line from various stores and are quite satisfied. When not happy with some item, the money is fully refunded on the spot, without even returns it if it is a food item , or any other small item. There are cameras everywhere so no chance of getting away with shoplifting!! The climate is Conducive to us. The place is clean & beautiful, the people in general are honest & polite, our Zoroastrian Community is very friendly & kind, we live as one family with our neighbours, the environs are very beautiful with lawns, trees birds, flowers, gardens & rivers, even in the Capital of the U.K. The Councils are rich enough to support the poor generously, including the illegal immigrants as well as those unfortunate immigrants who have lost their homes & belongings. Then what is the need for such a negativepropoganda? Yes the prices are high, but aren’t they high everywhere? Taxes are also high because if they weren’t how would the people get so many facilities such as free medical. Old-age. Children’s & various other allowances, keep the entire Country so clean & beautiful and look after all its people so well & with such care? Besides there is no bribery or corruption. Dear Indian students who are working in the stores as part time jobs. Plz be aware of shop lifting. Dont try to act as hero's . Be cool and calm else it will get worst. Everything will be recorded and owner of the shops will take care of shop lifting and other things.
