People are saying reflection or mirror can evade them What if it exceeds then melting point U can't cover the entire body with mirror or reflective paint
I work as an engineer and I can guarantee that a reflective surface will do little to nothing to protect the drone. High Energy Laser can often burn through them just as easily as many other materials.
I'm curious about the materials that next gen drones might utilize to counter lasers, given that lasers can still potentially melt through reflective coating
It might be a good option against cheap drones but I don't think it is going to be very effective against expensive machines if engineers manage to equip them with mirror shields with laser trackers that can deflect these beams or some kind of reflective paint. Because in the end it is light. We are already using these technologies in space satellite to protect them from sun' radiation
It doesn't say it's a new tech but rather the first active deployment, thereby setting a new trend for the future. I am sure other countries will follow suit soon since it's not that complicated a technology.
Funny people comments mirror reflect laser they didnt know how mirror created laser has high temperature and mirror will reach it melting point unless you coat the drone with diamond you will not worried the laser beam.😂😂
if South korea has these ... what do you think the big nations has..i'm sure its way better/bigger or whatever and ....i'm sure they're not telling us...i'm sure it could take down an aircraft instead of toy drones !
south korea is one of leading weapon tech nation. many way bigger countries don't have better tanks, better war ships, better fighter jets that south korea produce
Like the entire world except Burma, Liberia and the USA, South Korea uses the meter, not feet, inches, fingernails and pube hairs. The UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada also officially use the meter, therefore it's rather idiotic to use body parts, in 2024, for measurements.
I do not know why people call them ground breaking. It's merely a CIWS system not a patriot or S-400 An upgraded pantsir alongside tunguska should be enough to deal with pesky drones in an area
Everyone saying other countries already had laser weapons.. Yes. But they couldn't put it to use because of the cost. Other laser weapons costs about $10,000 USD per second. This one only costs $1USD everytime it is fired. This one is something you can actually use. So what's wrong with Korea producing laser weapon that can actually be used?? South Korea has been working on it for years and they did make ones with 100% accuracy rate. If this was made in the USA, no one would be as skeptical, but just because it is made in South Korea, no one wants to admit that South Korea is capable of making something like this. A bunch of freaking racists.
