Gravitas: Why is the U.S. antagonising India? 

US did the same in 1971 too when it tried to dissuade India from fighting war with Pakistan. Then USSR stepped in and kicked the US navy out. Unfortunately Russia can't and won't step in this time to ward off US navy. The point is every country has its own self interests and there are no friends in geopolitics. US can sacrifice India for its own benefits and not regret about it. Even close allies of US like Canada and UK know this. India needs to grow militarily and economically strong like China to stand its ground and ward off any misadventures. The world will only listen to you when you are strong.

This is exactly why India needs to start becoming not only self reliant but also a military exporter and sway away from both the US and Russia. Become your own power then create the path of world peace. Create a Asian NATO like treaty with Japan Taiwan Indonesia Southeast Asia etc. Keep up relations with France and other European countries like Greece Eastern Europe etc.

Friends or Enemies, No one should be allowed in our territory without permission. No other country should have bases in our Territory 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳

I am a Filipino who prefer to work and partner with Indians. The number of Indians living in the Philippine pale in comparison to the number of Chinese living in the Philippines. But guess what, I spent more years dealing and working with Indians. I can still remember one Indian guy who was in the business of lending money. Because our family back then was very poor, we could not get a loan from a bank or a lending company. That Indian would always lend us money. Yes the interest is way higher than a bank or lending company but that didn’t matter. If we’re not able to pay on time, he’ll iust leave and keep coming back. Never did I see him getting angry. Most Indians living in the Philippines are engaged in that business. But when the BPO industry boomed in the Philippines, so many Indian-owned BPO companies expanded in the Philippines. I’ve worked with one of them for almost 4 years. My experience working with my Indian Bosses and with my co-managers based in India was wonderful. Filipinos and Indians just go well together. See. Even if we get millions of Indians living in the Philipppines, I would not be so worried. Most if not all of the Indians living in the Philippines are law-abiding citizens. While you often hear news of Chinese engaged in illegal activities, i have never heard of any Indian arrested because of illegal activities. That says a lot. :) More power to India and its people. :)

Quad may not be able to function. Was it necessary for the U.S. Navy to ignore the wishes of the Indian government and secure freedom of navigation in the waters near Lakshadweep at a time when a siege against China must be formed as soon as possible? Even if the U.S. Navy had needed to conduct operations in the Indian Ocean, wouldn't there have been other ways, such as changing to joint exercises with the Indian Navy? Whenever there is a rift in the relationship between the US and India, it is China that jumps for joy. India, which has traditionally followed a non-aligned policy, has just decided to join the Quad framework with the US, Australia and Japan to counter the Chinese threat. This U.S. naval operation is likely to disappoint those in the Indian government who have been promoting a cooperative line with the U.S. and isolate them domestically. Public opinion in India may also be divided on whether the threat to India is coming from beyond the Himalayas or from beyond the Indian Ocean. In order to get the Quad back on track and to a higher level of cooperation, diplomacy that fully takes into account the positions of each party should be necessary.

I'm a US citizen, and I agree. There was no need to make an unwelcome incursion against a friend. We warned China that their actions were unwanted before moving our ships into disputed waters, but India's waters aren't disputed. We sent India no warning about behavior because no behavior harms us or allied countries. Far from it. India IS an allied country.

India china border issue is a bilateral thing, so for a decade or so, both countries comes into a mutual understanding treaty to make east and south asia as powerful to ward off Western countries naval forces. But chinese credentials are in the doubt to make this into possible. But at the same time if we compare to the US and China or Russia, i would rather choose China or Russia than the US.
