this is like another universe where Earth's orbits are no longer a safe zone, no more internet streaming no more spy satellite , no more Falcon rockets nor Artemis Lunar mission. This might to our version in one mistake or deliberate.
Orbital decay exists, given enough time, less than a human lifespan, actually, most of the debris will fall down and burn up in earth’s atmosphere. Up in space, there is a tiny amount of air, and since most of the debris is located in Low earth orbit, most of the debris will likely burn up within a human lifespan, so at worst, only a generation will be stuck until space practically resets. Some debris will still be floating around, and could be tracked with ground based radar, but most of it by then, will burn up
*_This is one of the most dramatic scenes in the 2013 space thriller movie "Gravity"_* Your interpretation and artistic approach to the score fits nicely with the vision of the writer and director. I have watched "Gravity" 4 times and each time I do, I see and learn more. I highly recommend others to watch. It's special effects are very accurate. When the astronauts are outside and tethered to space station, their bodies react to changes in direction and acceleration from being whipped around after collisions with space debris. *_Gravity is 1 of 3 great space movies recently. The other 2 are Interstellar - 2014 and The Martian - 2015._*
Actually not...the pieces would be sailing through the area shown in the scene much faster than what is shown. This is a near-zero chance of survival for anyone involved, just from the debris cloud. They Hollywood-ized the f*ck out of this thing.
thats not really how that works. deep sea cables transmit a lot of our data if our satellites were knocked out we would lose certain phones and gps guidance but the data servers we have wired into a world wide grid would still be fine.
@@hasamanda3687 the world runs off of gps, sure it wouldnt send us all the way back but space travel will become obsolete and we will be stuck down here, the chaos and terror from this alone is already gonna be a worldwide catastrophe
No it won't. Since most of this debris is in low earth orbit it will not take much time for it to slow down from the very small amounts of atmosphere and then burning up.
@@thebooboo3269 doesnt mean it wouldn't become a wasteland that could take decades to resolve, if you mean it happening in the first place it is 100% possible and could cause a chain reaction, might not wipe everything out but even if 10% survive that's a major hit
I’m gonna take a wild but accurate guess and say you enjoyed the movie, and went to see other peoples opinions of it online, only to see real life astronauts shake their heads at it, so you immediately change your own opinion of it to appeal to facts. Get a life loser. Stop changing your opinion just to seem more “in touch” with how it really happens. I bet you thought you were a real astronaut after finding out this isn’t exactly 100% accurate, moron.
spinning like she was, pulled up against the straps she cldnt get undone while floating in space, now with wicked G forces pulling her against the straps, there wud be no slack in the straps and NO WAY shd cld undo them spinning at the end of that arm. later picks up a battery operated drill and uses it? every time i pick up a battery powered anything... batteries don't work and they aren't in minus 256*F space where batteries would expire even sooner due to the cold if not plugged in inside all the time.
We’re talking about the same person who didn’t abort immediately, didn’t disconnect before the strike as ordered, and who was generally freaking out, right? She didn’t seem to be spinning any slower when she did disconnect…
@@cockpitdrummer I’m super assured, I guess. You proved my point by describing you studied music for 12 years prior. I know you’ve got it into to be more encouraging around other musicians, despite your personal opinion about how good it is. I’m sure you’re aware about music being subjective. Next time you see another musician’s work, be it professional or especially someone who recently jumped into studying it, just try to offer criticism that’s constructive and helpful. We’re trying to grow the number of supportive peers in the industry while still keeping the standards high- I think you’ve got the high standards part down but work on striking a balance. Be nice and professional about it! Especially if you’re serious about music!
@@hudsondunbar7853 There was no reference to the quality of the composers music or their ability in general. The piece does not fit the film, that's it.
I can never take a movie trama serious if George Clawny is in it, he can never make a serious face or act related to the danger, or emergency in any movie!
Panic?! Fucking panic?! She runs the risk of being left to float in a vacuum. Slowly watching as her only home, the only planet capable of supporting her existence, gets further and further away. No chance of rescue. Just you and your own terror stricken mind floating in the vastness of space.
A person can be a doctor without being a medical doctor. To have 'doctor' as a title, you only need to have gained a doctorate, which is a qualification in a certain field, not just in the field of medicine. Did you not know this?
