No, that was the second one. The first backwards message was from Mabel's smile dip trip, the giant dog told her "must distrust Grunkle" in a goofy voice. Good thing she didn't listen lol
FINALLY I found comment about this. I didn't knew if I was just deaf, or language barrier happend and I just couldn't understand (english isn't my 1st language)
Atbash (Hebrew: אתבש; also transliterated Atbaš) is a monoalphabetic substitution cipher originally used to encrypt the Hebrew alphabet. It can be modified for use with any known writing system with a standard collating order.@@aryanshar2437 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atbash
This show really did what most shows refuse to: quit while they’re ahead. The show is so iconic because we didn’t get a cheap second storyline, we got a satisfying ending and went our merry ways afterwards. Idk how many times I’ve watched this show but I always wanna crawl into the tv and live in this mysterious world. The composer for this show is a damn genius!
I feel like I wouldn't mind another season as long as the creator is in charge of production and they have the original voice actors for it. It's also perfectly set up for another season as well due to Bills message.
Should've ended on three seasons tbh. Like season one for June, two for July and the last season for August. Amphibia and owl house ended on three seasons but I won't complain. The short ones are masterpieces
@@sinistersmiles64 The reference is something that was from the Blind Eye Society episode, where, when Fiddleford was watching his memory clip, he said the exact words as the reversed line. No one knows what it means, unfortunately.
According to a comment right below this one (at least as of now), it’s an Atbash code that translates to “Bill Cipher Triangle”. Nothing mind blowing I guess 😔
There’s actually (at least) three more: 1. In the inconvenienceing, one of the giant smile dip dogs Mabel hallucinates about is actually saying “must distrust grunkel.” 2. In the stanchurian candidate, when Gideon cast the mind control spell he is saying “spooky evil spells” over and over 3. In the short the tooth, the giant island head is saying “you have awoken me from my slumber! Enter my mouth children! Enter your destiny…”
Bill's message : " A X O L O T L I ! My time has come to burn. I invoke the ancient power that I may return !" is realy a perfect set up for a sequel, it's the kind of last word from a overpowered antagonist when they're defeated but it's the first book of a trilogy.
Personal thought: Bill was reincarnated as Stan and his "absolution for his crime" is literally being the man that stops himself from destroying another dimension. So yea...it is one big stable loop of Bill defeating bill to cause his reincarnation
It’s funny cause the line “envoke the ancient power that I may return” is connecting to the axolotl as the “ancient power”. And due to the books stating that the axolotl is called upon when someone request forgiveness, it’s likely that Bill was calling upon the axolotl to save him from his sins yet doesn’t fully state his name due to fear of the axolotl rejecting his forgiveness.
He meant the axolotl of time, an ancient axolotl that can grant a single wish to those who invoke them, the axolotl also says about bill that "he will be back in another form in another time" so he wont be returning very soon. Its somewhere in the gravity falls books so
@@virpeya It's actually theorized that Bill is King from The Owl House reincarnated, don't know entirely if it has any ground other that King's age being the amount of time (when it was said) to Bill's "Death" date
Pretty sure I heard somewhere that Bill spells out "Axolotl" because in the Gravity Falls universe there is a god-like Axolotl more powerful than Bill and it offered him a favor if Bill just says "Axolotl" but Bill is so afraid of it's power that he wont even say its name.
isn't the axolotl say to invoke their name if you want forgiveness? i simplify what they said because i forget, i don't explore all the book just the poem
in the book, mabel and dipper ask the axolotl about bill, a piece of the axolotl poem said "Invoke my name. One way to absolve his crime. A different form, a different time." i think the axolotl give a forgiveness to bill after what he done (i don't know what crime, but the axolotl said crime, it means it singular not plural) if he invoke the axolotl name he will get forgiveness for his crime
I don’t really remember it, but I’m pretty sure Gideon used a spell to break out of prison or something like that. In reverse they said something like, “Spooky Scary Spells”
@@Dipperx-Ye I honestly buy the "Owl House bill is Gravity Falls's bill" theory cuz OH's bill shares quite a bit of GF's bill, and a falls book had a link to a page of the axolotl and it mentioned something around the lines of reincarnating him in a weaker form
@@aymslt8743 seriously, I'm waiting for that to become a plot point. If Stan dies without remembering Bill at the end of his life, Bill is gone. His prison is Stan's mind, but he's still in there, just.....forgotten. Brilliant means of stopping an extra dimensional being not exactly tied to the same universal rules as us (gravity, entropy, etc), but the moment something sparks Stan's memory like, _"Oh yeah,_ I remember now," - *BAM* - Bill's back, baby! I see that curse coming to pass in several ways, like in the form of an episode where Bill shaped stuff starts to randomly appear in gravity falls (the semi-quarter-century "Pyramids, Top Hats, and Glass Eyes Festival," and Stan is _really_ sad he missed it last time!), and crazy happenings like Stan getting into a terrible accident and coming out completely unharmed (Bill's spell keeping Stan alive, so that Bill *can* return, and not fade away as a memory never remembered). Mad props if the really old Mayor bites the bullet, upon the second return of Bill, decides to be the Bill prison this time given that he's, like, 130, and wouldn't be reminded of Bill in the time he has left, even on his best day. Bill gone, and you might not even need the mind eraser, lol Dipper: "Alright, time to erase Bill from his mind!" Mayor: "Who's Bill? Is that my son!" Dipper: "Wait, did somebody already erase his mind!?" Stan: "Nope." Mabel: "Nuh-uh" Ford: "Negative." Soos: "Yeeeeah, it _may_ have been me, dude. I got the memory gun and- *ZZZZZZZ* - Ohoho, *wait,* dudes! This is my _drill,_ false alarm! * laughs * Oh, man, really dodged the bullet on *that* one!"
Actually its because in one of the books, dipper and mabel encounter an axolotl in the sky. And when they ask about bill. And the axolotl's eyes glow and say "Sixty Degrees that come in threes, watches from within birch trees saw his own dimesion burn misses home and cant return, says hes happy. Hes a liar. Blame the arson for the fire, if he wants to shirk the blame. He'll have to invoke my name. One way to absolve his crime. A different form, a different time." which is obviously talking about bill.
To anyone who does not no: The last message where bill spells out axolotl is actually mentioned in this one gravity falls book that I forgot the name of. Basically dipper and Mabel meet this all powerful axolotl and they can ask it one question and it'll answer it truthfully or whatever. Dipper asks it what it knows about bill cipher to which it responds: “Sixty degrees that come in threes. Watches from within birch trees. Saw his own dimension burn. Misses home and can't return. Says he's happy. He's a liar. Blame the arson for the fire. If he wants to shirk the blame, He'll have to invoke my name. One way to absolve his crime. A different form, a different time.” So BASICALLY bill just did the "invoke my name" part of the ✨️poem✨️ and now he's probobly gonna come back l, most likely in Stanley's brain and control him like he controlled stanFORD; only while he sleeps! If you read this whole thing I applaud you 👏
I mean can be, but the Axolotl made clear that he will invoke his name to absolve his crime, I doubt he would be able to return as himself at least, and the theory is that he reincarnated in Stanley in order to stop himself. That's how he returns in a different form and a different time, the one way to absolve his crime, to stop it in another reality.
I heard a theory that makes a lot of sense and I believe it: Bill Cypher has already come back. He was reincarnated as Stanley Pines. That's why both he and Stanley talk about buying gold. That's why Stanley was selfish and mean as a young man, just like Bill Cypher is, because he hadn't learned from his past mistakes. But eventually, Stanley learned to be a better person, something that Bill never did. That's why Stanley defeated Bill Cypher through an act of selfless sacrifice and finally paid for the sins he committed as Bill Cypher. Then, after completing his redemption, Stanley is allowed to regain his memories and live the rest of his life.
Bill Cipher " A-X-O-L-O-T-L MY TIME HAS COME TO BURN, I INVOKE THE ANCIENT POWER THAT I MAY RETURN!!! " Axolotl " As what?" Bill Cipher "STANLEY!!!!!!!!!!!" Axolotl " So be it. " Edit: I also realized that at the end of him saying it normal ( non-reversed ), it sounds like he yells, " I WILL STA-AY!!!!!"
the dog isn’t actually a backwards message, people were just REALLY looking for stuff between season 1 to season 2 and just assumed it was something cuz it sorta sounded like something
For those that didn't quite get the last one. What was said was "Axolotl my time has come to burn, I invoke the ancient power that I may return" According to the comics (which I'm not sure about the canonicity of) dipper and Mabel come across an Axolotl thats basically god, and that would be the axolotl that bill was referring to there
Alex Hirsh's own response was that they're "canon-ish" which in my interpretation would mean technically canon, but not necessarily important to the main story.
He spells out Axolotl then says “my time has come to burn, I invoke the ancient power that I may return” which is a reference to one of the comics where there’s a powerful axolotl deity that can do quite a bit. MatPat actually has a video on it, Bill isn’t as dead as we may think.
@The Commenter to quote ramirezthesilvite in the comments: "Yroo xrksvi girzmtov" is something McGuckett has said in another episode, but he said it forward. It's an Atbash code translating to "Bill Cipher Triangle"
A-X-O-L-O-T-L my time has come to burn I invoke the ancient power that I may return Edit: HOLY 1.7K LIKES IN THE LAST THREE DAYS, WITH 20 REPLIES. THANKS, also thanks too the person or corrected my misspelling.
(again) Actually its because in one of the books, dipper and mabel encounter an axolotl in the sky. A different form, a different time." which is obviously talking about bill. still dont see why ppl dont get this
@@gone_eating "to absolve his crime"... I wonder if that means he'll have to do good in whatever his new form is? Like cosmically bound from commiting evil?
About what everyone's saying about the "A X O L O T L" If you get the copy of book three Ford puts in an entry saying about him waking up by a sage looking woman with a giant Axolotl tapestry behind her. from what I can tell this is how I think it goes: the Axolotl is an ancient creature (possibly of unmatched power) who had either beef or a friendship with Bill. In some way Bill must have done something for Her and that caused Her to pay a favour to Bill. Bill obviously cashed out this favour evoking the Axolotl and wishing to be brought back... in another place... in another time. Just for the record heres the entry Ford wrote in journal three: THE ORACLE "I was suddenly sucked out of the 2-D dimension (not Bills btw), and i blacked out. When i awoke, i found myself in a strange mountain top shrine surrounded by clouds, looking up at a seven eyed creature, Theselbraum The Unansering. She told me i was in dimension 52, and that she had been treating my wounds for a long time. Strangely, she seemed to already know my name and what my mission was (to murder bill and save the multiverse). Whether she was psychic or had just read my wanted poster is hard to say. But she had some stunning insight about Bill. She said that if i truly wanted to face him again, i would need to protect my mind - and that she could help me, but it would require putting a metal plate in my head with difficult surgery. Maybe it was the thin mountain air but i agreed instantly. For a week, as i recovered, we had many long conversations about Bill. Apparently, his thirst for power had led him to destroy his home dimension - including his parents and everyone he hed ever known. She spoke of him without anger, but with a calm, steely, clinical resolve to see his reign of terror end. She looked deep into my eyes and said i had the face of a man who was destined to destroy Bill. I was so excited that we spent the entire night partying and drinking cosmic sand - the same kind Time Baby himself consumes. When i awoke the next morning, she was gone and i was in another dimension entirely. It was time to continue on my quest. I sometimes wonder where she is now and how she knew so much about me..." Infer that how you like.
I really can't imagine other kid's cartoons being darker than this. It was a masterpiece Edit: CALM DOWN PEOPLE I HAVEN'T SEEN SO MUCH SHOWS BECAUEE I ALWAYS HAD SHITS TO DO
1st co writer for the gravity falls plot: what is this backwards message read 2nd co writer: oh something like bill cypher will come back 1st co writer but the show is ending, wont the fans want more if they find this out? 2nd co writer: exactly i want them to experience true pain
It's "Bill Cipher Triangle" but every letter is replaced with its opposite in the English alphabet; A = Z, B = Y, C = X, and so on. Normally it isn't meant to be read out loud though, it's just a letter-swap encryption
@@hatcactusofficial Well, first of all atbash is not a language, it's a code. But as I said, it's in atbash and then reversed. If you reverse it, he says "yroo xrksvi girzmtov" which is "bill cipher triangle" in atbash.
Honestly terrifying that he says “Axolotl, my time has come to burn, I invoke the ancient power that I may return” as his last words, possibly connected to amphibia?
Actually, it’s “A,x,o,l,o,t,l.” Why is that important? Because from other vids I’ve watched, apparently Bill thought he could be slick and not actually call that name. Something that if he called it, he would have been saved, but he hated/feared (I forget which) whatever the creature was so much, that even in his dying moments, he refused to speak the word aloud and was trying to cheese it. So Bill never returned lol
I think the reason why the first one is “backwards message” is because it was probably a test on how to reverse audio or to tell the audience that there are secret messages
nostalgia at its finest. i remember coming home from gradeschool as a child being excited for the new gravity falls episode on disney xd then watching youtube videos for house analyzing and theorizing on whats to come.
i think its really cool how in the bill scene reversed, you see him melted and as he says "return" he reforms. probably unintentional but really cool symbolism
There was one OP missed where Gideon's father talks to him about not wanting him to use "spooky evil spells." Giddon proceeds to start using a spell... which, backwards, is "spooky evil spell." Incredible.
The axolotl one is a reference to one of the gravity falls books, in a page where dipper meets a gigantic axolotl in a white void, it is speculated that this axolotl is a being that's stronger than Bill cypher, I personally think that Bill cypher is asking for help from the axolotl.
I find it ironic that in amphibia, there are axolotols, their just not as prominent as toads, frogs, newts, or olms. And to give an example of a character who is an axolotol, look no further than loddle
I just realized Stan wouldn't pack nearly as much of a punch if not for his father he already used a left hand to knock out a person, I think it was time he took it seriously and used the main hand to take down the villain
