They should have interacted more. They're a criminally underrated duo. (Hehe, see what I did there?) Clips: 1. • 🌲 gf clips for videos 2. • Gravity falls season 1... Disclaimer: Gravity Falls is owned by Disney and Alex Hirsch.
There was supposed to be a whole-ass episode where Stan confronts Wendy about her stealing something from the Mystery Shack gift shop, but instead of scolding her he says she has a gift for stealing and they team up in all kinds of robberies. It never left the draft stage, from what Hirsch said, but this is what their relationship would be if the team could make the episode work.
Stan definitely has a father/kids thing with Dipper and Mabel, but it’s hard not to also see it with him and Wendy. She’s like the oldest daughter who he can’t boss around much anymore.
I see a lot of people talking about how Stan relationship with Wendy seens like one of a father and daughter. But here is the thing, basically all of the relationships of Stan are like that. I mean, he treated Dipper like a son, and so he did to Mabel. And oh boy, let's not even get started with Soos. I think that Stanley is trying to just give to those other characters the family he regreted so much having lost. Not telling that he treated he's employees as a replacement for his brother, but he saw in them the family he so desperately needed
Damn, that really makes Stan even better than he seems to be That loss of his brother, shows in the way he truly did care about everyone he deals with, especially the twins
Stan and Wendy definitely have an interesting boss/employee dynamic, with Stan bossing Wendy around and Wendy not taking Stan or her job working under him seriously. Wendy even flat out abused her power when she was a lifeguard and had authority over Stan at the pool. You could at least say that Wendy and Stan are at least acquaintances with a somewhat positive relationship.
Just like on Soos’ birthday, they both bonded over protecting him. I think it’s simply they know their roles. Like Stan’s not trying to make her the best employee ever, and she’s not trying to make it a 5 star resort
I would like to think that Wendy worked for Stan for so long that she takes him being laid back for granted but at the same time she practically has seniority working for him for so long that she can get away with being lax working for him.
they were finally phasing out when the show first aired. I remember trading my flip phone for a Android with a screen the size of a cracker its WILD how tiny they were
True. Although the difference between Gravity Falls’ version and South Park’s is that one is a boss and employee relationship with a few yet funny interactions while the other was one of the most popular ships in the franchise. But both are good shows
If you look at 2:21 when Wendy said this is too dumb for her to care about, and 2:40 when she tries to tell him not to go steal the animatronic, you’ll see that even though it seems like she finds Stan’s choices pointless, she still cares if they will get him in trouble.
Not only that, is already the evening, Wendy's shift probably ended an hour or so ago, she probably stayed just to make sure Stan was not gonna do something stupid.
I like how when Wendy is casually greeting Stan she calls him mr pines. When she was trying to reason with him or when she’s trying to talk to him on a deeper level she calls him Stan.
S&P hounding Hirsch for alluding that teenagers will make out at a party but allowing Stan to call Gideon a little shit because they refused to look up the word in German is peak Disney.
But... that's not what he said? He called him a "shyster." It's an English word meaning "a person who uses fraudulent or deceptive methods in business." Wait a minute... does that also make Stan a shyster? Lol
They make a great team. They’re both gold-hearted rebels with a sharp mind and wit. Too bad we never got a bonding episode. It would be hilarious and wholesome. Stan is shady but a great dad to everyone.
Something that I really like about Gravity Falls is that it really gets what makes its character archetypes work. Mabel and Dipper are opposites in almost every regard, but they're still siblings, and no matter how much they bicker, they eventually come around. Stan may be a crazy old scam artist with no regard for human decency, but he'll always be there for his family-in one way or another. Soos is the world's most perfect man, no "buts" needed. And Wendy is a sarcastic slacker, but she still cares and is capable of respecting other people without sacrificing her rebellious side.
I only watched Gravity falls once in english so I never noticed, but what is Stan saying at 0:26? I first understood "Scheißer" which is germans and means as much as "little shit" or "shithead" or something like this XD
@@TheWorldsLargestOven yeah and it's funny that in 2012 the end of the world was supposed to happen but didn't because the Pines twins saved the day, also flip phones were seen in the beginning like in the Inconveniencing, Tambry has one but in the Love god she has a smartphone, and in Journal 3 Ford has a page talking about Wendy and her smartphone calling it "computing phone" remember, last time he's seen phones they were mostly landlines, mobile phones looked like bricks
@@matrm5113I believe Stan was saying it more as a "would you ever want to date a guy like him" rather than "do you want to date this man who is way too old for you"
1:39 While I have the feeling the answer is tied to him maintaining the "Little Gideon" appearance to the public, I still like to wonder what Gideon would need to be taking someone else's moisturizer
2:21 She can dance, she can sing, she's equipped with a built-in helium tank for inflating balloons right at her fingertips. She can take song requests. She can even dispense ice-cream.
There was going to be a Stan and Wendy bonding episode where Wendy is learning how to be a grifter and they had a museum heist. However, this idea was scrapped because that was plan b without any plan a
Makes me wonder why Stan even hired her in the first place However there was this fan comic which shows Wendy arguing with her father, who ordered her to get a job. Stan saw this and took pity on her since he also had a not so great relationship with his own father, so he put up a help wanted sign (that was design specifically for Wendy to see)
Since Stan also a rebellious teenager in his younger days, seeing Wendy who behave just like him may what makes him tolerate her in the first place. Also, maybe that's why they have this close sarcastic relationship lol
The fact that Stan literally says "That little Shit" in Americanized German when talking about Gideon just makes me laugh at the fact it was On Disney XD
Reminder that there was supposed to be a Stan and Wendy B plot where they steal something from a museum together..... Damn i wish i could have seen this
Im not entirely convinced Stan and Wendy have a father-daughter vibe, I see it more as a Grandfather and Granddaughter: They joke around with each other, but she still listens to him on the important stuff , but doesn’t put up with or straight up ignores/works around the peak BS Stan puts out, but also drags him into new things. He also trusts her to an extent with Dipper and Mable. They are good for each other. Wendy’s quest for pointless , stress free fun helps Stan take moments to chill while not trying to get money or save anyone and Stand’s rule breaking but directed by his need to save his bro helps direct Wendy’s mad skill and rebellion aims to a greater point, ie like double crossing a drug dealer and beating up d-bag unicorns to get their hair for a protective spell. Besides, have you met her father? Of course she would want to hang around the old con man who plays loose with rules as long as results get had and no one gets hurt!!! Stan is literally the grandfather type that lets the kids drive down the block and have ice cream before dinner, as long as you aim the fireworks away from the house!
I know you won't do this request, Sav, but do another video whenever Dipper and Wendy are on screen and hangin' out together. Apart from my idea where Dipper does childish activities.
Wendy is the daughter Stan never had and Soos is the son Stan never had. So poetic and wholesome they’ve always been included and appeared as a family United
2:55 Apparently Stan hates it when Ford use the window to go out of the shack in that one comic depicting extra GF stories. Well apparently now i know he was like that cuz Stan himself can't do what Ford does. And Ford does it with *style*
It rare you see a platonic working relationship between a teen girl and a old guy without making it weird. I just love how Stan just treats her like a normal employee
logical answer: Gravity Fall is a small town so finding a person to work for u and also be semi competent is extremely difficult. Headcannon answer: Probally because he saw himself in her so he not only tolerate but even kinda like it to some extend.
I forgot how advanced her flip phone was. Can modern ones even handle the internet? I haven’t had one since I was in middle school and it just showed about four sites and each was just a small block of text.
@Tin Watchman True. Perhaps my mind is just poorly recollecting, but it doesn’t always seem like she is texting, but rather scrolling on the thing now and then.
“Psh! Don’t listen to him Soos. You’re a nice guy, with a steady job and a pickup truck!” “Would you date him?” Wendy should’ve said: “No, because I’m 16.”
this is a perfect example of friendship despite age. like, literally they are in cahoots with each other, and wendy just doesn’t care enough to do anything. they’re friends without the name lol
In an arm wrestling competition, stan loses to wendy 3 times in a row. He tells wendy she can stop working overtime if she agrees to not tell anyone. BTW this information is from "this is not a website" (which is actually a website).
