ARK Rods contacted me to see if I would review their newest Gravity Baitcasters before they are even for sale... of course I said yes!

pre-ordered a G5107L back in June just as they announced them. hoping I get it before spring 2023. still not here yet as of Nov 10, 2022. patiently waiting. good overview. thank you.

I just bought the Steez HLC and it is excepicional, this is a reel I wanted you to test, maybe the best caster daiwa ever made, but I am from Brazil and cant send the reel to you.

They may be a known brand but they’re not a well known brand. Their reels won’t be killing any current popular reel at the moment. Not to say ARK makes a bad product, it’s just that they don’t have anywhere near the same reputation as Shimano or Daiwa.

Out of everyone that’s coming out with new reels to try and compete with the big 4 brands. They seem to be taking it seriously. Kistler,savage gear and dobyns released reels but you can tell they’re just OEM Chinese parts bin reels with company logos on them. Everything about these gravity reels looks legit and exclusive to ark. Time will tell though.

Check out the Haibo Arise on Aliexpress. Same brake system (minus the additional 3 position switch on the side plate), with a claimed spool weight of 7 grams (minus the bearing)!

Don't understand the name because the reel looks fly... Like a G6... I recently purchased my first non Shimano baitcaster, a daiwa zillion sv tw. I'll likely stick to Shimano/Daiwa until it's confirmed these other companies products last.

Just have to ask, are you saying ALL philosophy is bad? I mean initially at some point non Christians had to ponder, is this Jesus guy we hear of the savior (and those that found him became followers)? I would say questioning things is good, especially if you feel you have a bullet proof correct answer, then it shouldn't matter what people ponder, they should arrive at the same answer.

Ark is 💯% slept on. I have 2 of their lance pro rods and idk how they can give you a 40ton blank for 99 bucks. Let alone on same for 80 right now. Really light, not tip-heavy. Great products.

If the casting distance is more superior than the neighboring competitor I think about getting it and feel like it has a good chance on the beating the competition because of the spool and brakes

Here’s an idea 💡 why don’t you learn how to actually take the reel apart and show the guts of the reel like the gear and pinion contact as well as the bearings. Those are the features that make a solid reel and not the cosmetics.

That seems like an amazing Reel and no I’ve never heard of Ark actually. I’m know Bruin and Ardent aren’t as well known as Shimano, Daiwa etc. but make absolutely great user friendly Reels.. cool Video

Interesting they went with TPE for the knobs. Some companies make lures out of it and it's similar to Elaztech. Very soft and stretchy but extremely durable

Looks good and definitely glad it shares nothing with the ylt reels because I do not like those at all .. Side note . You hear anything about the LingL as to why it's not on Ali anymore and when are you going to give the newer DWU BKII a shot or at least show the ones you have with mag upgrade... Pretty much same performance as the new fixed magnets

Aliexpress gets stuff alot later than other chinese shopping sites, so If you see it on Ali, its been out in China for months already. So I suspect a new Lingl might be out. But on those other shopping sites the english translations are crap so its hard to search something out. I got the magnets for the Dark Wolf and maybe Ill do a video on it but I dont plan on getting another one, got too much other tackle to make reviews on

Nice , but I’ll stick with my proven Curados … I’ve caught lots of huge kings on my Curado reels and they are all still like new .. Pretty funny how they all try to copy Shimano , looks , colors and whatnot … I just don’t see myself ever buying anything but a Shimano reel .. They’ve proven themselves time and time again .. Complicated brake systems are great until they fail the first time ..then they fail continually ..

I’m from Finland and I’m looking forward to buying an Abu Garcia low profile reel with a clicking drag. There’s only one reel available with a clicking drag here and it’s the salty stage concept free. My friend already has it and I don’t wanna buy the same reel as him. So I’ve looked at some reels on Digitaka and there’s a few that I like. One of them being the revo ultracast bf8, but the thing is that it’s a bait finesse reel if I’m not mistaken and I like to cast lures that are 15-30 grams for seatrout. Is it possible to do that with the ultracast bf8 or do I need to buy another reel? Or is it possible to just buy a heavier spool and where could I buy one? Your videos are amazing by the way👍

revo ultracast spool is way too shallow to hold the line for lures that weight. The new Zenons might be what you are looking for.

Other than it'll probably cause severe wobbling in use while reeling, that ridiculously long drive shaft and hidious after thought of a handle nut is driving my ocd crazy, every peice attached beyond the handle side plate ruins an otherwise sharp looking reel

Hi R T ,nice reel,there is a reel on Ali that is very similar to that,not cheap and slightly different shape it has IDENTICAL brake system , difference being the spool weighs 7gram without the bearings and it comes in 3 different gear ratios. The frame shape is slightly different and it's metal with carbon side plates, wouldn't be surprised if it comes from the same factory.Ive been closely checking it out and almost pulled the trigger a couple of times.

This feels smoother than any Abu Garcia I have ever owned and Ive owned some expensive Abus as well as most of my Daiwas. Now will all the production models feel the same? I guess we will see

Their quality control is great. Every rod I’ve gotten from ark has been as straight as an arrow and the guides as well. Really good fit and finish, even on their more affordable 100 lancer series. No gaps or visible glue anywhere. Just really clean for and finish
