@goldphenoms5139 I would love to learn this technique from Douglas. I always thought I panned fast maybe because I'm still new at panning, about a year in. I really wonder why it takes folks an hour to classify and pan a half bucket of cons. I'm just north of Prescott, Arizona about 7 hours from Bakersfield. I am willing to agree on a meet up somewhere, sometime that works for us 👍 To learn some prospecting knowledge from Douglas and to prospect with him would be a golden opportunity! 😁 Thanks GP💥⛏️
The best part is, if done correctly, you won't necessarily hurt your back while panning and you get to cool off w/ your feet in an amazing river while it's warm and sunny out! This method makes panning around and testing different locations a snap! ;)
My buddy Douglas is hilarious and his panning skills are legendary. Seeing is believing! 😉 I'm gonna' have to kick it up a notch if I want skills like that someday! Lol
you can load 10 +plus shovels into tray im 80 3 is a test in 6/7 sec spec chk this section of the kern has been flipped since 1850 hart park a 1,000 + sluices have worked every inch of it what you get here is small full pans to cons 6,12 secall cons 6 / 15 sec
i teach gold panning if you would like to learn to go gold mining contact sol for appointments on the river keep down to 3/400 micron cons 5/6 sec learn full pan to cons 5/6 sec
Plus it's a whole bunch of fun getting your feet wet in the never-ending search for that shiny yellow stuff! :) As dangerous as this river is, it's a great way to recharge the spirit!
@prospectorpete Dear kind sir, that sounds like a challenge. Would you care to put your panning to the test? I just spoke with Douglas and he has agreed to meet you, gold prospector to gold prospector, in a 1-hour Panning Contest! We will choose the time, day, and a 100-foot stretch of the Kern River and you may pan wherever you wish in that stretch (within the boundaries of the law). No sluices, suction devices, or motorized items allowed. After 1 hour, you will have an additional half-hour to clean up your cons via the same tools you used in the prior hour, and the prospector showing the most visible gold wins. Everything will be recorded so as to ensure a fair contest. What say you?
Let us know how it goes! :) It'd be great to hear how my SC audience fares w/ this streamlined approach to panning. Thank you for commenting and good luck! Heavy pans, my friend.
There's only one way faster than that , is Speed panning . you don't empty your pan out after every pan , you just pile in the next round and do that several times before you finally empty out . This guy is a man after my own heart . I watch some guys panning and it's painful to watch them , i like to go fast , but i think he's even faster than me ,👍👍 lol . Nice showing at the end there 👌. Cheers Ned .👍👍
my first panning championship 1953 50 yrs up red rock cyn 66,000 acres claimed had to create faster way when it went hands and pansall slices throw fines kern has been flipped since 1947 hart park has been sluiced 1000s of times micro is everywhere goes thru tray gets to 400 mesh or 3 shovel tray to panned 30/60 sec
